Can't Beat London Course In the British Lightweight Challenge

I beat the Top Gear track easily with my 88' Lotus, but have only came in 3rd on the stupid London course. I followed peoples suggestions and bought a TVR and a Elise, tuned them...yet still cannot finish any better! :grumpy:

By the way, my 2000 Elise has 174 HP and my TVR gets 270.


Does anyone have suggestions on what I should do?

Just buy the best tyres for them, it should be easy then.

Use a McLaren :D
 
I used a TVR Tamora which I won with a ticket ( I can't remember what ticket) and it was very easy.
 
This one is a bit of a b*tch. Used a 20 million Jaguar:O
 
I also used a TVR Tamora, Lotus 111R to complete this race.
 
Try the caterham?! Speed isn't always about power. It doesn't matter how fast a car can go if you can't apply the power to the road.

I have a caterham available to share if you want to try it?

Have you tuned/modified the cars you are using? Lowering the suspension (careful of curbs) and shortening the gear ratios will help immensly.
 
Race modded tvr will walk over the competition many times over
 
i won using a jaguar xjr-9..........
at the end I was like :sly:
 
The TVR Tamora can't be race modded, but can be tuned to achieve a time of about 1.01.xx around london. My bob does this in 1.03.xx.
 
Get a Mclaren MP4-12C and lighten it.
Or use a Mclaren F1, Jaguar XJ13,Jag XJR-9,any of the Lotus RMs, TVR Tuscan RM or Bentley Speed 8.
 
I used the lotus evora. No problem at all winning.
 
I used the RM'd Elise and it was cake. AI driving is atrocious (this is not news).

Only premium cars can have the RM option.

Really don't wanna pay more money for another Elise, though someone is willing to trade a better model. Also a used Fireblade has popped up for 42,000. Will that insure a win?
 
I don't really like the fireblade. An Elise RM is all it took for me. You can send me a friend request and I'll let you borrow a variety of fully tuned British lightweight cars. TVR T350C, TVR Tuscan Speed 6 RM, TVR Cerbera Speed 6, TVR Cerbera Speed 12, Lotus Elise RM, Lotus Evora, McLaren MP4-12C (not sure if it qualifies though) or McLaren F1. The McLaren F1 is the best one of course, followed by the Tuscan Speed 6 RM and Elise RM for small courses like London. I'll be on later tonight.

McLaren F1. :sly:
 
Used a lightened Esprit 350 on sport hards.Best thing for me was to learn the track,have to be patient with your line and precise on your brakes there.
 
Thanks for all the help, I'm using a borrowed McLaren...wish me luck!
 
I used the Tuscan Speed 6 even WITHOUT mods, still was able to beat it. This race is a walk in the park.
