I can't connect to my friends lounge, and he can't connect to mine. Both of us tried hosting a room in open lobby, with the same result. Both of us get the message:

"entry was refused due to network incompatibility with the room host"

on the lounge and open lobby. Sometimes it will be followed by [771] and other times [774]. We can both connect to other people's lounges and lobbies but not each other's even after multiple tries. I've searched about it and see other people are having this problem, but i haven't found any solutions. My connection is a broadband NAT2, not sure what my friend's is, but i don't think it's a NAT3. Help anyone? 💡

I haven't tried in a different game yet. And the day after I posted this, we tried again for the heck of it, and it worked! Tried later that day and it didn't. Weird, and neither him nor I did anything different, just thought we'd give it another try. I don't get it.

Me and my friend had this problem for weeks but we seem to have resolved it. I had to set my ps3 to a static i.p and then make sure that my routar accepts all inbound and outbound connections from my ps3.

My friend also did the same and we dont seem to have any more issues.

Google static ip and port forwarding for ps3 make sure you and your friend open the ports other wise might still get the same issues.

OK it'll have to wait until the weekend but I'll try that.

#bump

experienced the same and cant resolve it.
I joined an online lobby and because of a nice race friended the host.
A day later i tried to connect to his lobby (he was on and lobby had people in as far as the yellow light indicated near the pic). tried to join and could not see participants in the pop up window nor could i connect (error as above).
Experienced the same with another friend (but could connect here after a couple tries and without any changes made).
im located in germany and the others are from UK or US&A.

Any ideas why this error occurs and how to resolve it?

Your overall connection to your friend may be low no matter what.. Try refreshing the Cache in gt5 options through the network tab...
