Can't do any special Events

I don't know why, but I can do everything on this game except the special events now, I'm pretty sure thats what i'm talking about. Like the stuff with the go carts, the nascar challenges, rally, etc. I was able to do them before, but now the game freezes on the loading screen after I select a challenge whether its the go carts, or the top gear or any of them. I can't figure it out.

I've tried disconnecting from PSN, disconnecting from the internet as a whole, I don't know what to do. Anyone have any solutions?
 
OK, I tried both of those, disk is perfect, cleared the cache, still can't doesn't work.
 
Strange things afoot Watson. My own music (user BGM) mysteriously works for special events but refuses to start for any A-Spec event now. Nothing will get it back, I've just become resigned to it.
 
Yeah, I wish I knew what to do. I'm at the point in progression where I need millions of credits to purchase the next car I need for the events and I've got like 100k right now lol. Guess I'll go grind for awhile to get more money.
