I have many questions for FAQ, but they are not there and when I post something everyone says did you look around? Well, of course I did. Please quit ending my post and can't reply when this happens.

Here's the thing...

ALL of your questions so far could be answered by simply looking into the GT4 forum's FAQ threads, which are stickied at the top of the forum permanently. Seriously, "Is the Motegi 8hr race really 8 hours" is a question the FAQ wouldn't even bother to answer because the answer is readily apparent.

And where people have tried to help you out - like here - you haven't even bothered to respond.

Not to mention the fact that the question you asked me by PM last night could easily be answered by dint of simply looking in the game's manual.

Just read around the forums for a while before you make any more threads. You'll find that nearly every question you can think of has been thought of by someone else, and answered.

Honestly. While I'm not intentionally being offensive, you need to stop lying to yourself and us.
Look. At. The. Top. Of. The. GT4. Board. Where. It. Says. Read. This.

Can you honestly say that "of course" you looked around? Each of those two threads linked by daan are permanently stuck at the top of the board, and clearly marked as FAQs. Each of those two FAQ threads contains dozens of - wait for it - Frequently Asked Questions.

So don't insult our intelligence by saying "of course" you looked around when it is transparently clear that you have not.

What if he had a problem with his browser? , or some other problem with his computer? He might not know it's a problem with his computer and not a problem with this site.

If he can see any threads on the GT4 board at all, he can see the stickied threads. The only difference is that they stay at the top of the board.

Wow, you guys are really nice people. Thanks for all the help! What's the point of a forum if you have to spend hrs finding answers when you can just post a question? You guys really need to chill out. It's really not that bad.

Learning how to navigate forums is something that takes a little while to develop. If you were an experienced member finding that information should take less than five minutes, since it is in the stickies (or can be found in the search function - which of course adds more time). But even a new member, notified of the idea of stickied threads and such - should be able to find information within reasonable time.

Unfortunately, if everybody posted a new thread without properly searching - the forums would be cluttered with obvious threads and the regulars wouldn't want to put up with it.

That's my perspective without having looked deeply at the questions you asked. So good luck on your next questions :)

The main idea of the forum (I think) is to keep people updated with news, and discussion.
Old threads aren't deleted, so if you have any questions you can still go back and find answers.

Welcome to GTP!

That's the point of the FAQ threads you claimed not to be able to see - so you can spend seconds finding the answer.

There's 100,000 people here. Your question will, most likely, have been asked before. The resources are here to help you find it.

Give a man an answer and it solves his question. Teach a man to FIND the answers and he will have solutions for life.

What's the point in a forum if you have to spend hours answering the same easy (or totally unclear) questions over and over and over for rude people who are too lazy to help themselves in any way?

You're assuming that all of our time, collectively, is less valuable than your precious minutes. It's NOT. You're the one who wants something from us, and you're here to get it. We're here because it's satisfying to help intelligent, appreciative people who then go on to become contributing members of this little society.

So far you appear to be none of those. If your attitude and behaviour change, perhaps you could be. How nice have YOU been, since you're so quick to get sarcastic about us?

Now, I've never been in the GT4 forums before (because I don't have GT4 :() but Nezdogg, I think that you should take advice and look in the stickied threads. However, I will say that half the time, the search function doesn't work. I usually have to search more than twice for one thing; if it is a specific question and not a thread whose title I already know, it can take a pretty long time. And that's because I know these forums reasonably well and know the search button's habits. New members often create numerous threads because they can't figure out how to search. This was the first forum I registered to, and it took me months just to figure out how to efficiently use the search function.

So Nezdogg, good luck with your problems and welcome to the forum :)

Here's what confuses me... you cannot start a new thread in at least the GT4 boards without first being sent to the following page:
So far Nezdogg has started four threads in that area, three of which have been locked. Before starting any of those threads he would have been alerted to the FAQ and other useful threads.

Besides ignoring the warning to look at those threads and search first before starting a new thread, as Famine and others pointed out in Nezdogg's Japan Motegi thread, even though many of us would have helped him, he gave no discernable information on what his problem even was.

I was going to say something, but I think Fangio said it best:

Welcome Nezzdogg!
It would appear as though you have stepped hip deep into the muck and mire of satirical reparte! I too have exhibited a certain amount of technical ignorance when posting, and for that matter, a certain amount of ignorance in general.
Good Sir, do not take the comments to heart! Revise your approach, revise your question, and as i have found to be the case, you will have more assistance than you probably can use.
So be of good cheer! Enjoy the resources of this community of mixed nuts! And in general, if I may be so bold, LIGHTEN UP!
Yours In Jest
Fangio

So basically, to insure a peaceful, happy, and productive experience on GTP, you may want to consider the following:

  1. Follow the advice of others and the automated response from GTP before starting a new thread - check the FAQ & Sticky threads, and/or try searching first.
  2. When asking for advice or assistance, be sure to be as specific as you can.
  3. If you do not get the answers you are hoping for, be patient.
  4. Perhaps, most importantly though, relax, do not take everything so seriously.
GTP is filled with very intelligent and humorous members. If you can learn to appreciate both, your stay here will be a long and enjoyable one.
