Have tried multiple times for days now, but every time it downloads and won't instal. Keeps telling me it's corrupt. I have no idea what to do. Is it possible to download the update somewhere else?

I can still click the game and says new update than it downloads but for some reason and just can't instal. It gave me a error code to contact someone with idk who really but I guess that's my only options now.
Ok I have tried everything yet nothing is working. Could you guys please explain what I delete and than what I do to make this work. I have a copy of my save on a USB already so I'm hoping it will work once this is all done.
Go up to Game Data Utility on the Game section of your PS3's XMB and delete Gran Turismo 5. That's assuming that your Game Data is corrupted though, can you still play GT5 if you aren't connected to the Internet? It isn't a good idea to unnecessarily delete the Game Data as that will result in the loss of many things including created tracks and your photo album.
I'm not sure if corrupted game data would stop you playing or just downloading a new patch, hopefully someone else does.
I click the game and it says download I try, it downloads, it installs than after two seconds says corrupt. I click the game and press O rather than X meaning ok for the update thinking maybe it would bring me to the game but it just attempted to load on black screen and nothing ever changed. I can try sign out of psn and do the same and hopefully that will work but seems like its the last option. Gave me a code for what the problem is but I don't know who to contact to give it to.

Oh nice good move. My error code is 8002956 and people are reporting these types of problems from basically every update at random. For some reason the ISP is doing something to screw it up it seems. Everyone suggest taking it to a friends house and updating there. People also said deleting everything than starting over won't work as they tried it. Not sure what to do now since I can't take my PS3 anywhere else.
The only thing I can think of is turning off your router for a few hours or something. It's a (very) long shot, but I can't see any harm in trying if you haven't already.

Thanks I was thinking the same thing. My internet has been going out randomly for short moments so possibly that small stop in download is what is screwing it all up. I reseted everything and will go try soon. Really hoping it works.
I used to have that same problem, I'd get near the end of an update after waiting forever and it would stop because the connection froze for a while. It sounds like that was the problem, hopefully it'll work for you now.

Just to update turns out my ISP has been out all day and said they have been having problems all week so hopefully that problem will be fixed soon and I can try again. Also gonna get better Internet as right now 5mbps and will improve to 25mbps. Didn't expect this update to get so complicated lol.

Ok time to update this. Got the new internet, it's pretty fast and seems to be working good. Managed to grab the update finally, although I did have to reinstall that like 8GB main GT5 thing again. Lost all my photos and I assume my tracks, but all the photos I have on my computer already and I only had one track so whatever. Nice
.
Not to mention when you're playing online, you are MOSTLY uploading!!
