Hi all. I am struggling with the Audi R18 and wondered if anybody has found any useful setups or tips which might help me with taming the beast.

I don't use driving aids other than ABS (1). With previous vehicles I have used, a little time and patience and I manage to handle them with little issue.

This R18 however is a beast. I seem to be constantly slow in exiting corners as the tendency to spin out is difficult to avoid. It may just be a case of practise, practise, practise. If so I will look forward to that. I only ask because the 'learning curve' with this car seems far greater than what I have experienced thus far.

Many thanks in advance. :)

I also enthusiastically recommend Praiano's tune for the Audi R18, for me it made the car predictable and, most importantly, very enjoyable in the seasonal TT at Spa. Even though it's made for the 15th anniversary version of the car on racing mediums at 650 PP, you can use it as a base setup and adapt it to the normal car or your PP preferences. Big thumbs up for Praiano's tunes 👍

Cheers,
S.

I used it on the 15th Anniv. version for the seasonal TT too.
I also used it on the version avail in the dealership.
I highly recommend praiano63's tunes, they rock!

To be honest i bought this car expecting it to be fast and 'safe' to drive and instead it's pretty crap ( i'm not saying it's broken or something but to me the handling is pretty bad ) then i decided buying her old antagonist ( Peugeout 908 ) and that car is a dream ( with some tuning then you will get a ridiculous amount of HP ).

Also using some of Praiano's tunes will help you. ( i'll use it too now, and maybe i'll change my opinion )

i havent had any real issue with it and i dont really tune suspension much. pretty much just max downforce, use best tires permitted and watch the throttle. beat the 650pp seasonal by nearly a second without too much effort.

Yes, that's the nickname that the real drivers gave it.

Please, does any of you remember the nicknames they gave to the other two R18s that year? I completely forgot it and it's become a pet peeve for me not knowing it. I know that the winning car was Red Sonja and another one was Diesela...but the third one?

No, I don't remember:(

🤬 YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks a lot Tired Tyres!!! Today I'll sleep a little better . Have a pint on me :)

And, on-topic now:

In my opinion, short-shifting helps loads with driving the car. Never ever go 100% throttle in 1st or 2nd gear. Don't trust on the car's downforce too much or you'll find yourself overcooking turns more often than not.
