can't post messages on account long after ban lifted?

i don't really care if this account is banned, but I can't post on my original account even when the ban was lifted more than a whole year ago.i logged on to the account and it said the ban expired but i still couldn't post anything. I've read the entire forum behavior thing and i just want this account destroyed and my original account unbanned.
