I have received a PM I wish to report but when I press the button, it tells me that I do not have sufficient privileges. When I go to report a post however, it goes through to the next page. Is it just me or does this need fixing?

As for the PM, I have forwarded it to a moderator who may be online.

Damn Legendary, that's no good mate. Hope that person who sent the rude PM to you gets his butt handed to him by the mod squad. 👍

I dont know what will happen mate. I might have been a little rude to him, I dont really know.

The same thing happened to me a while ago, I assumed the report worked but maybe it didn't.

You've forwarded it to a moderator, and that is exactly what you should do. Also try to include any back story you might know of. If it's simply "Out of the Blue", let us know. If it developed from a thread discussion and the member continued the discussion with an unsolicited/abusive PM give us what you can.

I have had it dealt with now. Both of us have received what was necessary.

There is still an unsolved problem, the ability to report PM's sent to me.

Other than that, I have nothing else to say to anyone via private messaging at the moment so dont bother.

PM reporting isn't something which can be enabled/disabled per user group, and it seems to work OK for me. Can anyone else confirm a "no-permission" error?

I just tried reporting a PM form Der Alta and received the same message:

OK, I found the problem. The "Report" button shouldn't have been shown on private messages like that. If you had clicked on the triangular button on the top right, it would have worked. I have now removed the standard "Report" button on PMs, and have changed the icon in the top right to be a more descriptive link.

Cool, all fixed then!

Maybe it's not related, Jordan, but it appears that the change you made to the PMs has added the report box to our own forum posts.

If I feel the need to report myself...

I'm sure that's always been there, I click it myself by mistake sometimes. Love the warning to say it won't be a forum post though. :p

I don't think it has. I can now report posts when I'm sure I couldn't before...

EDIT: And I can report my own too. I definitely couldn't do that before.

Same here - and that's new. Never had a "Report" button on anyone's posts before...

Wow, something did end up getting messed with then. I can also report myself if I feel I need :D.

I've had a report button on everyone elses forum posts for ages, years probably. But this is the first time I recall seeing one in my own posts.

Yeah same here, there's been one or two times in the past I've hit the report button instead of quote .

Oh, on our OWN ones... Yeah I've never seen that before.

Yes, my modifications to the default forum software templates prevented you guys from seeing your own report links, and prevented moderators from seeing them as well. These tweaks have unfortunately left the PM reporting broken for quite a while, as Legendary just discovered. I may address this in GTPX, but I'm not going to spend any time fixing it back on this old style now.
