Ok so we have $30k total to spend on a car of our choice with upgrades of our choice, which we will lap around Eiger Nordwand Short Track (normal direction) trying to get the fastest time possible... Yea?
stock
$13,552 Nissan Silvia Spec R Aero (S15)
PP: 424
Power: 230bhp
Weight: 1240kg
Torque: 26.7kgfm
laptime (first): 1.28.981 (bad spin)
laptime (best): 1.19.549 (lap 4/5)
Upgrade #1:
With the $16,448 I had left, I decided that the Silvia NEEDED better tyres. While I would have liked to bought full on racing softs, they cost upwards of 30k in themselves, so I settled for sports softs. Two stages better then the S15's standard sports hards.
Money spent:
$13,552: Car
$8,000: tyres
TOTAL: $21,552
PP, weight, power unchanged
Lap time (1st): 1.16.112
Lap time (best): 1.15.365 (5/5)
Upgrade #2
With just $8,448 left in the kitty I decided that it was time to look at the predictable stuff. I eventually settled on an oil change, a racing air filter & stage 1 weight reduction.
Money spent:
PRIOR TOTAL: $21,552
Oil change:$250
Air filter:$450
Weight reduction:$5000
TOTAL: $27,252
PP: 443
Power: 254bhp
Weight: 1165kg
Torque: 29.3
Laptime (1st): 1.14.507
Lap time (best): 1.13.869 (3/5)
Upgrade #3
So, with $2748 I'm running out of low options. So with my last scraps I decided on a sports ECU & a sports exhaust
Money Spent:
PRIOR TOTAL:$27,252
ECU:$1000
Exhaust: $1500
TOTAL: $29,752
PP: 458
Power: 285bhp
Weight: 1165kg
Torque: 31.4
Laptime (1st): 1.13.418
Laptime (best): 1.13.018 (5/5)
I must say this exercise has made me think alot more about whar the best way to spend credits in GT really is. Out of all the upgrades I did the tyres made the biggest difference, but they were the dearest. In the end, thanks to this competition I have a good little online rocket I got for the price of an evo. Thanks
P.s. I used a DFP with all aids off (ABS:1 & brake bias 5:5) in manual (sequential shifter mode)
