Car Classes (N100 - N1000) Restructuring Required

The Gran turismo classes are broken up into classes as follows, but i believe that these classes need refining as a power to weight ratio system is a better way to sort these vehicles into there respected classes as some vehicles have power and weight advantages in their respected classes

N100 = less than 150 hp
N200 = 150 hp - 250 hp
N300 = 250 hp - 350 hp
N400 = 350 hp - 450 hp
N500 = 450 hp - 550 hp
N600 = 550 hp - 650 hp
N700 = 650 hp - 750 hp
N800 = 750 hp - 850 hp
N900 = 850 hp - 950 hp
N1000 = more than 950 hp

1. Example N400 Class:

Ford F-150 Raptor
411 hp
2723 kg
150 hp per tonne

Ford GT40 Mk I
354 hp
1080 kg
328 hp per tonne

2. Example N700 Class:

Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
707 hp
1980 kg
357 hp per tonne

Ferrari Enzo

Because PP was seriously flawed. This system isn't perfect as there are a few outliers still, like the KTM X-Bow, but overall it is far superior to what the PP system was.

Edit: OP.. it's more accurately X44hp-x43hp is each class. It is not a x50-x50 cutoff.
 
There are cars in the game that truly break the rules of categorizing in N Class.

Alpine A110S ‘72 could belong in the N200 class.

Alfa Romeo 4C feels at home at N300 class.

KTM X-Bow is a supercar killer, which brings its assigned category into question.

The Ford GT40 Mk I could move up to N500.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS is an N600-N700 killer even in its base form.

McLaren F1 hangs out with the hypercars in terms of pace.

And that Aston Martin Vulcan... it doesn’t deserve the current treatment. We can’t even set up its differential settings.

N Class system is completely broken, if you ask me.

At least PP took weight into account, too. I had a lot of fun races in GT6 in 500PP lobbys and while there were a few OP cars I found it a lot more balanced than GTS' N-classes without BoP applied.

PP was never balanced.

I didn't say it was balanced, I just said it was (in my opinion) more balanced than what we have now. But maybe it's just my faded memory of the fun and good races I had with lots of different cars..
 
As far as QM and Seasonals was concerned, the old PP system was fine. There was some cars that excelled in their class but it was well understood and there wasnt any huge glaring oddities.

I dont considered the TS030 and the Shelby Series One as class breaking.

This new system is a bit worse but the old PP system survived GT5/6 so any new system will be more flawed than the old system.

N groups are not classes unless BOP Is turned on

Without BOP you are litteraly racing an unbalanced class.. the fact this goes above the heads of 95% of this forums heads is baffling . Its akin to racing Gt3 with BOP off , some cars are just faster .
EG the raptor without BOP turned on will get creamed by other cars in that N group . When you race in the Correct class that's BOP adjusted the raptor keeps pace as its power is increased and it's weight is reduced .

The N GROUP is not a class until BOP is turned on

N300: 246hp until 344hp
N400: 345hp until 442hp
N500: 443hp until 541hp
N600: 542hp until 640hp
N700: 641hp until 738hp
N800: 739hp until 837hp
N900: 838hp until 936hp
N1000: 937hp onwards

Polyphony should really bring back the PP system (even if it may be flawed) from GT6, so that Gr. X cars can have at least some cars to race against.

It's x50 to x49 (or basically "rounded to 100") in PS, the rubbish, hateful, pointless "metric" power figure. So:

N100: 0-149PS
N200: 150-249PS
N300: 250-349PS

... and so on.
 
You forgot to say about the SFR concept! This car can detuned to be in N200 & it's not that it's crazy fast but it handles like a gr4 car so is not fair!

Well, take a system that is flawed (seriously is a big exaggeration) and substitute it for one completely broken is the answer, for sure!

The X44hp to X43hp is because the N classes are categorized in metric horsepower (PS), and not mechanical horsepower (hp).
For example:
150 PS = 147.9 hp
250 PS = 246.5 hp
350 PS = 345.1 hp
450 PS = 443.7 hp
and so on...

yes
the problem I saw with the old pp system is that it seems to calculate pp differently for road cars and race cars, so 600pp may mean either a supercar race or a GT500 race. However if the lobby host clarifies what car to use (600pp road cars clean) it's a great system where I can use a whole variety of cars and just be as competitive

I remember the days where I had an arsenal of cars from 500-600pp and I'd use each of them in a specific order everytime I lose... ahh the memories :)
