Before you think about taking this topic to the PC-related forums, hear me out. This topic is on CAR computers. I don't know too much about computers for cars, but I know a few things. Among others, I learned the Corvette C5 and ZO6 have several computers on it, so if you have to reprogam the thing, you have to look at all of its computers. If you would like to learn more about car computers, here's a nice site I found (you'll need Flash for some of the photos):

GTPlanet, let's talk about car computers.

Knight Industries Two Thousand (K.I.T.T) was the coolest computer car around.

Computers are found in just about every car made in the last ten years, they control everything from the amount of fuel going in the engine to the temperature of the cabin.

Most modern cars have a max speed limitsers. Sometimes the max speed is limited to a speed so slow that you don't even need to go into top gear. I find this very annoying because it forces people to buy equipment to reprogram the speed management program if they want to go faster.

Why would you possibly need to go faster than the car's speed limiter?

All modern cars have hundreds of computers inside of them doing tons of different things. It's not all that amazing once you think about it. All the electrical systems, safety systems, fuel management systems...it adds up really fast.

I don't know this, but would anyone know the first car to have a computer to it? And since this isn't Gran Turismo, how would you tune a car by putting in a chip or changing up the computer configuration? So what about tuning in terms of computers?
