How about something better than GT4 style? A new style? A something good for 2010 :)
Knowing PD, I'm sure it'll be different from previous GTs

It gets boring experiencing the same thing over and over, from GT to GT4....

At CES we saw in the demo, this:

See at the beginning of the video, how they navigate through the cars? Maybe something like that would be good. But then again, isn't that similar to how GT4 did it?

One thing GT needs to keep is the world map. If anything, the countries should be physically represented rather than just given approximate locations like in GT4. Having it split into North America, Europe and Asia/Pacific would be good. (As Europe would have to be zoomed in to, as the countries are too close together)

What I would not like in GT3 style, or GT5P style. I don't want all the manufacturers bunched up into one menu.

GT4 style is far better than GTPSP, however, it has it's own turndowns too, I don't really like that point and click menus, why not something between GT4 and GT5P? I mean, you just select dealers, then country, then manufacturer and then you're taken to a selection screen like the one in the CES demo, with big pictures of the car and possibility of free camera around it. :sly:

Thats how GT3 had it, Car Dealers, then a list of countries. I thought it took something out of the game, wasn't as good as before. Obviously PD thought the same, because they sorted it by locations again in GT4.

To be honest though, I don't care either way, its the fact that we have the cars that matters. They could all be mixed into one list in alphabetical order, or they could all be seperate locations on the world map (i.e. one for each individual car... :P) and it wouldn't make a difference.

But The game still needs the world map. GT1-4 all had a world map, GT5P did not, and I don't think GTPSP did either? (I'm not sure on that, I don't have the game).

Hope PD listen to this thread.
As a unanamous decision no one likes gtpsp dealeship cyles.

As far as I know, barely 98.7% of GTPSP players were pissed of waiting for Lamborghini or Bugatti, and when they arrived they have already spent the money they were saving to buy the cars.

I don't own a GTPSP copy BTW, I'm just replicating what I've heard on this one and some other GT forums on the web.

Also, many reviews on the net pointed the dealership cycles as a failure, seems like GTPSP was some sort of laboratory of a new concept for the series, but I'm sure everyone missed the traditional GT mode. I'm glad it will be back soon. :D

The bit I have emboldened is the GT2 way nearly. It was split into North, South, East and West dealerships. South was America, East was Japan, North was Britain and Germany and West was France and Italy.

GT2 also used shortcuts at the top of the screen that were quite handy.

I'm not bothered about how the dealership setup works as long as the car views aren't like they are in GT5P. Rotation all the way.

I like the GT PSP version where only 3 dealers per 2-3 days. Its more variety in online races. But to play a single player, its pain in the butt to called all of the cars you want.

I want Something similar to GT4s world map point and choose. But more free camera options. And maybe special deals and what not.. Used car market should also be tied with each manufacturer.
But when you buy a used car, its dirty, oil needs to be changed, on top of that, the car should be lightly tunned, like previous owner tuned it up a bit. Ex. Sports exhaust and a chip. Or a car with small turbo bought already in it. Since Kaz promised destructible suspension, some cars should be slightly offcenter while driving, suspension should be way softer or just broken down. So it's something like in real life

I hated the car viewing screen in GT5P. Rotation is the best way. Or they could do both, give us the GT5P viewing screen with an option to freely rotate the view with the analogue stick, kind of like how you can in the garage/customisation menu in Need for Speed games.

Yeah something that at least lets us see the cars from more than three or four angles. There's nothing wrong with the look of the GT5P screens, its just the constantly changing screen and rubbish angles. Obviously the ultimate would be the fully interactive exterior and interior views. Time will tell.

GT1/GT2 dealerships! I liked the whole new car/ used car selection and also the companies I guess main tuner. Also each company had their own theme which was pretty cool.

I'd like to see garage or showroom style dealerships like in Test Drive Unlimited. It was to see them in a showroom and then you could also check out the interior and open the doors and stuff. And in GT5 you could probably even open all the doors, hood, trunk, and whatever.
