Car getting dirty?

I've definitely seen cars accumulate snow and dirt on the rocker panels during the rally stages. I don't think it stays after the race from what I've seen though, perhaps it does.

I haven't washed any of my cars, and they are all clean.

You probably washed the car every now and then.
If you leave it and just do plenty of races it will get dirty.

never used car wash in this game always wanted my car to look dirty idk why just to be different but the game won't allow me too what a waste of a feature

you can definately see dirt accumulate on the Yellowbird.
and, even cars that appear clean (having been driven), are more brilliant after being washed.

Yeah, same here. I have > 20 races on one particular car, including a few trips through the gravel and every new race I start, it's spotless. I've never once washed it.

I can only assume visual damage, mechanical damage, dirt, engine rebuilds, chassis rebuild and the like are all features PD wanted to include but just couldn't work it all out by the deadline. And these features will be slowly worked back in with patches over the next few months.

My Chromeline R8 actually got dirty on the sides as I occasionally pushed my Bob too far and he went a little bit off the track on the Nordschleife :D
It was pretty dirty aswell and not just a hint of dirt.

Yes, yet another bizarre half-implemented feature. I think the people claiming to see dirt are just imagining it because they want to see it. Heh.

I have yet to see a speck of dirt on any of my cars, which is odd because I remember seeing a video of an F1 driving around Toscana getting really dirty, and thinking that was awesome. But in the actual game I've seen nothing like that.

i have race over 100 times in zr1 rm and i dont see no dirt
Me too, I had 30 races with my civic (a black one, so it's easy to spot dirty) but nothing...

Hope so... or well I hope that kaz will fix this stuff and not postpone it to GT6....

My sls on the cape circuit got.plummabled with dirty after second lap maybe cause I was grass riding at times. The dirt was very noticable.

1500km in my tuned Honda CR-Z. Still as shiny as if it was new.
I suppose only rally cars go dirty...

It takes many long races. But cars do end up a bit dirty.
Still, I think this effect has been toned down too much.
It takes too much time for dirt to build up:

I haven't took any more photos lately, but my Furai at the moment is even dirtier compared to the one above.
Still not enough for not having been washed for several thousands miles, however.

By the way, cars in the garage currently always look perfectly clean, probably due to a bug.
To see dirt you have to go in races, watch your car in the demo mode or in the GT Auto screen.

After doing the Le Mans 24 hour the Redbull X1 is so dirty that you can hardly read the Redbull sign on the front wing. But take it to GT Auto after the race and none of the dirt is there !

Makes the carwash feature pointless IMO.

There must be some additional bug which prevents most of the dirt from sticking up at the end of the race. That's probably also why it takes so much time for it to build up over time. The same thing happens in rally stages, from what I've read: cars end the races quite dirty from dust and even snow, but after them they're clean again.

Its not dirt your seeing thats damage texture from the X1 rear ending everyone

I think I saw dirt on a car in the used car lot.An '83 Skyline had a brown patch around the wheel arches.
