Car getting dirty?

Didn't gamestop have a video of the McLaren getting dirty on a rally track? It's weird because I can't even put dirt tires on mine..

People that see dirt show some pics or didn't happen.

I'm bspec lvl 38 and i see alot of dirt, level up alittle and you will see dirt. Geez, i hate people that post crap like: "pics or didn't happen, lol"

Even standard cars get dirty, my F1GT during the LeMans 24hr Endurance race gets very dirty - amazing detail on some standard cars.

never used car wash in this game always wanted my car to look dirty idk why just to be different but the game won't allow me too what a waste of a feature

What he said.

The list goes on.

I have raced countless times in countless cars and they are all in pristine condition. Please post a picture of a dirty car in your garage to prove I am imagining things.

Some cars just don't seem to get dirty. They just lose their glossy sheen, which returns after a wash.

I have noticed dirt and snow accumulating on my car during rally stages, but it doesn't persist.

There was a dirty car example in the previous page.

EDIT:

Ah you mean that. Due to a bug (probably), all cars look perfectly clean in the garage, unfortunately.

Theyre standard cars son.

possibly thats rust?
They could be some sort of stains. Some of them appeared on the front-end of my Mazda Furai during the latest B-spec endurance I took it into. I wonder if they will remain visible after the race, they're not very noticeable but they're definitely there.

I've noticed over time my Furai has marks over the rear of the car and spoiler, will try to get some pics later as currently my "posse" is doing an endurance race.

Yeah that's what I meant. I've seen my cars get dirty on the track but then they are magically clean in the garage. Kinda pointless then to have a "car wash" feature to wash a clean car. Just another way of hoodwinking some more credits off us :D

Cars do remain dirty though, even if in the garage they look clean.

This is what I've realized so far about it:
- Dirt is visible in car demos, GT Auto, and races. Not in the garage screen. I haven't checked in online races yet (currently playing B-spec races only since I am temporarily without a wheel and can't play with a joypad). I haven't noticed dirty cars in the used car lot so far (as previously reported by another user), to be honest, but I've never paid much attention to that there. I will next time
- Not all dirt is retained after each race, especially in rally/dirt/snow races where cars appear to get dirty relatively quickly
- Permanent dirt build-up appears to be very slow. It takes many thousands kilometers/miles for cars to start getting quite dirty. After about 1000 Km without being washed, there's only just a bit of dirt in some spots.
- It doesn't seem that cars will get dirty enough so that their metallic shine will be completely lost
- Under certain camera angles and light conditions, dirt is almost invisible. It's as if it was transparent to some extent (it is, game-wise)

Just started another B-spec endurance with my Furai as I finished the last one.
Most of the dirt that built up (the dark patches on the front especially), disappeared
It looks like cars won't never get too much dirty because of this.

Answer: One of these cars has been 200+ miles without being washed.

This pic was taken after 5 minutes hooning about in the lawn by the top gear track - the tyres are discoloured - and there appears to be a couple "smudges" on the bonnet and the front right fender.

I thought it was dirt at first - but I think its just scrapes or "damage" as evidenced in this picture.

The damage/dirt disappears when you exit a race.

I did the Roadster 4 hours, in a sunshine yellow MX-5, and at the end of the races it was filthy, dirt all over, and oil streaks on the nose.

I've not used it since, I'll take it to photo mode, and see if the dirt is still there.

EDIT: I took out my MX-5 for a spin, and now its spotless.

I didn't clean it, so I suspect puting a car in the garage cleans it, or maybe they just get clean automatically at the end of each race :(

I've just done the 9 hour endurance on Tsukuba (b spec) in the HPA Golf. It's battered and bruised all out of shape. Really dirty with paint from other cars and scrapes all down the side. Magic!!!

Just like mechanical damage etc, it might be added down the track. They didn't put a car wash there for nothing, something people might think they are stupid but not that stupid ( i hope )

It is pure psychological. The car wash is pointless. Once you exit a race the dirt vanishes. There is no difference before and after washing a car. I hate that they put in a feature on par with homeopathic medicine and think so little of the fanbase that they think they can get away with it. I hate even more the fact that they are probably right.

The only dirt I see is what we are digging up in the GT5 graphics department. Anyone still think cars stay dirty after races?
