Car increasing power after each race?

Hello!
I'm racing with a Ferrari 512BB '76 tuned up to 580HP and I noticed a strange thing. My car is actually increasing its power adding 1 Hp after each race...
:scared: Is a bug or a feature? Anyone else noticed it?

It seems a bit odd...
I was expecting a decrease of HP after each race due to engine wear...
Perhaps they made a mistake in the formula putting a 'plus' instead of 'minus'..?
 
I think its reasonable for an engine to 'settle' after it's given new oil but a little exaggerated both in the amount of HP it gains/loses and the amount of kilometres or miles this happens over.

The HP will go up, peak and then come back down lower than before the oil change.
 
Yes,I've heard that GT5 simulates engine break-in, so that might be what is happening here.

Has anyone tried a used car(with engine rebuild vs. without engine rebuild)?
 
Most of the new cars will experience HP boosts after driving it a few times. Some will just get the bonuses right away if you oil change or rebuild (not applicable to every new car). If you read some of the tunes in the tuning forum, they will even list if you should oil change/rebuild for their tunes.
