I do like damage and paying to fix it is a good idea, but it must be an option and there shouldn't be any races where you have to race with damage on - as you said it's just not fun to have forced upon you unless you're in the right frame of mind for it.

/goes back to the 'Ring in the Yellow Bird with N1 tryres - almost got it down to 8:30! :)

Im always in that frame of mind in racing games :)

Damage will never be forced in a game. It's always an option and always be. Would kill sales if their was no option turn it off.

In Toca Race Driver the damage can't be turned off in races and that's the reason why I never completed that game...

Can it not? I never turn off damage, so never even realised that. I didnt find Race Driver that difficult to finish. Great game but was a bit easy to finish I thought.
 
That's an awesome article. Completely proves my point. The track's corners, curb sizes, and hills seemed quite different to him (hmm, where have I heard that before? 💡 ), and the GT4 350Z was much, much faster than the real one. He even said that the GT4 lap was "error-strewn and a bit ragged." So a bad lap in the game is much, much faster than a real one. :rolleyes:

I don't think it was difficult, it is just so damn irritating when other cars ram your car at the end of the race.
