I thought the car names were always in english?? at least for gt2 it was...

In the Japanese version the names of the cars are in Japanese (I assume this is true of the Asian and Chinese versions). On all the subsequent releases (American, PAL and Korean) the car names are in English. There is no option to change the way the car names are displayed.

that's a very very nice screen shot. how did u do that?

hmm jus asking
how did you get the Japanese. version and below the bspec line.. the numbers... how did you get hard or easy? in Japanese thats not possible :dunce: :scared: ... because i have it and im suffering lol

I've found this photo in is this forum :)

Just a curiosity beacuse i read japanese.....

I would assume the photo was created by someone who has GT4 hooked to their computer using a video capture in hi-res. Then it's just a simple screenie.
Other than that, I have no clue.

Huh, i know the P sign for pitting in, the no fuel sign, the off track sign. But whats that wheel sign supposed to mean?

That's a publicity shot. I don't believe that exists in the game at all (and yes, I also have both Japanese and PAL versions).

I was going to say it looks doctored, but I think Famine's posts anwsers it :p

Ah - I thought you meant this type of translation;

FORD - Found Off Road Daily
LOTUS - Lots Of Trouble, Usually Serious
FIAT - Fix It Again, Tony

tires have to be chnaged or something

mmmm, that makes sense then. because hooking up game to computer, then screen shotting on high rez will not give you such clear, sharp results like that

The hard thing is the level u have the b-spec driver set to. Notice hes set on 5, or push in the NA version. They probly changed it or something in the Japanese version. But then again they did say that was just a test shot.

Also the fuel level is /40, not /80 as in the game.

I don't believe this is an actual screenshot. An early concept art, maybe.

Here are the discrepancies:

1) There are 2 separate legends for R1 + L / R. The only similar controls in the NA version is L1 + L / R for changing simulation speed.

2) Race timer is missing.

3) There is no current sector indicator (the while line on the right showing the car's current sector)

4) The best lap times, diff. and distances do not correlate. Unless the last 2 cars started off 1 and 2 laps behind initially, there is no way to lap time differentials can result in them behind that many with only 9 laps, even factoring in the ~35 sec you need for each pitstop (see point #5 too).

5) No tire material other than jello will require 2 pit stops in less than 15 minutes of racing.

The Wheel is showing that the car is off course, and it is in the dirt.
