**More Cars or Better Graphics?**

  • Good Graphics a lower amount of cars..Image is everything

Have you ever wondered if we'll ever see more than 6 Cars in :gt:?

Now in a Thread I read that this was due to Car Graphics and that basically the more cars, the more Graphics would be sacrificed. Can anyone confirm this? :D

So in GT4 would you like 6 absolutely Stunning Life Like Cars :eek: or more motors in each race? :chkflag::gcar:

Maybe :gt: Will look something like this one day? :sun:

I only want lots of cars if they all have good ai, but I doubt that will happen so I dont care if were stuck with six in the next installment. The major excitement in racing comes from racing my mates in 2 player :Poke: or i.link :call: :answer:
 
They would also have to make changes to the track (widening and length). Its hard to imagine 4 cars wide on the corkscrew as it is now. The starting grid would have to be made more wide and if there is that many cars, it would have to be a lot longer. :burnout:
 
honestly, i would rather have 6 extremely gorgeous, life-like cars. it would be nice to have more cars on the track, but they would have to stuff the info on 2DVDs and Cram it all through the PS2s processor. still, i would rather have excellent looking cars, rather than a bunch of them.

Good point - I'd be happy with six if they were better matched and the AI was better.
 
I would be happy if they added just two more cars. :)

If they sacrificed the graphics just for the sake of adding more cars, then it just won't be Gran Turismo. ;(

I agree we need far better AI ... just on 6 Cars :smilewink
 
i would like to see a cockpit view added to the game but that would take up a lot of data on the game but it still would be awesome. maybe they'll add it on the ps3
 
Im sure the PS3 will be able to handle more cars without sacrificing graphics or game play

But the PS2 is just not powerful enough to cope

But the idea is a good one ;)
 
production gap.... ps3 will be infinitely better and faster that ps2 could ever dream of being :)


as for the number of cars racing i think the more the merrier but ultimately it woul d best if we could adjust thru a menu system how many cars we put on the track and have the game automatically adjust the graphics quallity to comphensate for the extra cars.... :D
 
Take Wipeout fusion for example you have 16 competitors on track ..Graphically its not as good as :gt: But it suffers from frame rate problems due to the amount of activity on the screen

Still a great game though bugs and all :D

Exactly! - You don't want 12 AI cars in the Laguna Seca pit entrance, trying to go through the wall :lol:
 
putting aside the possibility of more cars AND better graphics, the GT series seems to have already made its decision on this matter. Since the beginning, the game has prided itself on graphics while sacrificing car numbers. If they changed now, don't you think GT would lose its identity in some way?

If on the PS2 and we had more cars on GT4 :car: I totally agree, however if it was on the PS3 the graphics would be better even if we had, say 10 Cars and wouldn't know any better Unless another game :cd: maker brought out better looking graphics?
 
I first saw the header on this, and thought car numbers...You mean I would be able to slap a big number 25 on the side of my Ruf? That might be interesting. Something along the lines of multiple race paint modifications available at the tune shop.

Not the Tf&TF style stickers, something to turn my RUF into a more race looking vehicle.

Don't start on my about stickering up the car and not improving performance. It is customizing it to match your personality. Like the rims that are available. unless someone has definitive proof that the choice of wheels has an effect.

But back on topic...I would like to see 8 or 10 cars, as sometimes the big tracks are very open, and could use some excitement. For instance, I ran Cote D'azur enduro, and I finshed a half lap ahead of second place, and 2-3 laps up on second. Any of the long races can get to be that way.

At least in The rally section, let's run 6 cars, and have a rally enduro. Or better yet, dump the rally section entirely.
