Speaking of cars. They really nailed it with the new Z28.

The lounge is open, racing will begin around 3pm EDT (30 minutes from now). Come on out for the last go 'round with the FR triplets.

Last two races were two of the closest I've ever seen (only two I made today so 2/2)...great racing today guys:tup:👍

The last race at Motegi Road was insane... I can't believe how tight it was the entire time, and everyone raced very hard and very clean! I'm gonna be sad to see this car go...

Indeed it was, probably the closest top 5 we've ever seen! We were all pretty close the whole race too, it wasn't just a last lap fluke.

^ That race was awesome! Really good to see you up the front Brandon with some genuine pace & fighting for the win. Hard, fast & clean, with a bit of paint swapping, proper racing. :D What happened to Johnny, he fell back on lap 3 or 4?

👍

I started up front with the reverse grid because I missed the first race and jumped out to a 3 or 4 second lead and gaining. I already knew I'd win at that point and it's not much fun hotlapping on your own. I wanted to mix it up in traffic so I dropped back to 5th to get into the action.

The OP's have been updated with next month's info. We'll begin our American Tour with the Audi TTS on Tuesday and then swing through Europe in the Roadster TC starting on April 16th.

All real world tracks, you spoil us good sir! I should be able to make it every Saturday this month. :D

Our Saturday crowd has been a little low, had to make sure all our available members would attend. :sly:

Daytona and Indy may seem strange selections but they are both very good with the Audi. Daytona is surprisingly fun (and yes the Audi has plenty of gear for the straights) and the double hairpin's at Indy are sweet with the AWD. The Mazda has a split personality, it's fantastic at some circuits and rubbish at others. I feel like Nurb. and Monza were very enjoyable with the car and should produce some good racing.

I'll probably have the lounge open between 7pm and 7:30pm EDT tonight so we can get a little extra practice in with the new car. Hope to see another great crowd!

Done a few laps in the Audi on Daytona Road, best lap was a 2'08.8XX, & I'm sure there's more to come as the car's not run in yet.

^Marcus did an ~8.1 yesterday after a few laps. He probably did mid-7s later, but I had to bail. I'd guess that a broken-in car will be slower, since it will lose a bit of top-end HP.

At this point I'm hoping to make it today at least several minutes before 8pm.

I bailed not more than a couple of minutes after you, so I never got any faster. The car will burn through a tank in probably 20 laps looking at the consumption, but the front tyres just get destroyed so you can't capitalise upon the weight loss. There's definitely 2'07s in clean air, maybe 2'06s; but I didn't have the discipline to strive for it.

Despite being sort of up my alley as far as behaviours, the car is challenging on the flat track. I have only the few laps yesterday under my belt for this combination, but with the draft I don't suspect lap times will matter as much. I will almost certainly crash several times. I should be there in poor form.

Got a couple minutes....

The room was set to "very fast" wear. Not sure what setting Brandon uses, but I thought I'd see how bad was the wear. With heavy rear brake bias that I tried after noticing heavy front wear it wasn't that bad, but turn one was a challenge.

T1 is fun. I expect to see many 4WD burnouts this evening.

As a tip for others who haven't run there to keep it in check, like anywhere; make a straight line to brake in.

Hehehe. T1 at Daytona is an adventure but I always got through safely so I figured we'd be ok. I bet we'll see some tandem drifting though! I found that low rear brake bias made it fairly manageable.

I just thought; you're gonna have to change the name to "Cars Of The Month Club" now! ;)

I look at it as a way to lay down a sweet Spy Hunter smoke screen and totally annihilate the competition, or keep it smooth, its up to you.

I thought about that....but I was in the Beer of the Month Club and each month they sent me a box with 3 beers from 4 different micro-breweries. They weren't Beers of the Month, so by that standard we're ok. I might modify it to Car(s) of the Month. 👍

   Does that mean you're going to pull into the back of a semi-truck halfway through the race??

Just got called in to work for a bit. Might make it in time, have to see how it goes. :grumpy:

Ate we using non broken in specs? If so I may make it out tonight.

Ran a a few more laps and cut a 2'07.6xx. I actually went faster with the car at 447PP rather than full(451PP). I won't tell you why.

The lounge is open for practice, racing will begin around 8:00pm EDT.

NOTE: The actual PP limit for a new car plus oil change is 446, not 447. I have updated it in all appropriate places.

I may think about participating in this racing, only on the Saturdays though. I loathe practicing though, so I don't know. If I do it will be with the minimum of it, hah. I will consider it, thanks for the invite VBR.
