You are ok in my books...
Truth told I am 62 and with dexterity issues and I do the best i can.
You only say I'm okay because you haven't seen me crash out every other race in our weekly lobbies

It's admirable that you're keeping active despite your age and dexterity issues. You've got spirit, and I think you should be proud of that :)

Hello all, I made a run of Fuji with my GT-R and finding out the bloody track is a bit slippy early in mornings...I tried my best and posted my replay with COTW in keyword.
Also my best lap was a restart after making a mess of constant slides way off the track which do not register with track limit penalties and I will not post sloppy laps...
Here is my live video of that best lap, I always use the apex markers and braking zone assists as I never remember where to apply my brakes at same place consistently...

And a screen of my best time...

Thank you and I will try to be at weekly lobby...tonight at 10 CST

Maybe I should have been the first to put out a time since I chose it anyway. But better a day late than never?
Overall the car has the tendency to slip a bit, or understeer on exits when you least wanted it to. It doesn't help that Fuji is the kind of track to torture your tires or smoothness in a lap. But we all have that little masochist in us.

The best I can do for now is a 1:49.686.

Hello there

The GT-R '24 is car that represents a love and hate situation for me. When it first came out I simply hated it while driving it at the online time trial challenge at Nurburgring Short GP layout. The car was a mess. A huge one. No breaks, too much side leaning, too much slide action and to add salt in the wound I just can't stand the Nurb GP layout. The 1st sector is pain.

However, as the time passed by and I kept trying to reach the 3% golden zone, I started to understand the car. Driving this car requires some patience, you gotta be aware that overdriving brings you no reward but only frustation. That lap time challenge taught me the values of the slow in fast out concept and got me a feeling of when a car grips and then you are good to hit the gas and go.

After that I made some small tweaks in the suspension and since then I love it. This particular car I used in this COTW challenge is the very same I bought when the GT-R '24 came to the game and this is a rare thing for me, keeping the same copy for so long. For the COTW challenge I set the suspension back to default and did the same with the GT auto aero parts though.

The challenge itself... I hate Fuji's 3rd sector. Opening up those turns is a forever mystery for me. I know I lost my 49's there. But I happly settle for the 1:50:573 because the 30 minutes I spent driving the Godzilla there were quality time.

The lap:

I tried something different and crammed all three replays into one upload. (Chase, onboard and replay) Replay shared in my GT7 page (#cotw #gtplanet)

Cheers!

@RX8 Racer has a free car choice that he can use whenever, but this week, it's his natural turn to select the car we'll be thrashing about the Nürburgring this week.
And his choice? Get ready for some pain... it's the Alfa Romeo 8C

Nothing in the UCD or LCD interested me until I saw the 8C and went 🤔

Alfa's first RWD coupé in 17 years not only dropped jaws for its stunning looks, but also its Ferrari–built NA V8 and a transaxle gearbox layout. Yet, for all of its splendor, it's a strangely forgettable car in GT7.

Are we overlooking something major, or does the 8C simply not live up to its hype? Join us in our Single–Player Challenge or Weekly Lobbies and let's find out!

Join Our Weekly Lobbies!

Our weekly lobbies are ongoing as usual, and anyone (not a dick) is welcome to join us in racing 8Cs under BoP conditions!

Click on the hyperlinks to convert the times to your time zone, and feel free to add the hosts as friends on PSN to make searching for the lobbies easier!

(The SPC is) a time trial that riffs off a specific race in NFS HP 2010 - a Maserati GranCabrio vs 8C Spider duel while being chased by Shelby GT500 cops.

Set up the following Custom Race using Regular AI:

  • Course: Grand Valley Highway 1 (Forward)
  • Race Type & Length: 3 Laps
  • Start Type & Interval: Rolling, Default (20m)
  • Tyre Wear & Fuel Con: 1x
  • Boost: Weak
  • Mech Damage: Off
  • Grip Reduction: Real
  • Rival Difficulty: Hard

Starting Grid (All cars stock):
  • 1–5: Ford Shelby GT350R '16
  • 6: Maserati GranTurismo S '08
  • 7: Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione '08 (You!)
  • 8–12: Ford Shelby GT350R '16

Finishing in first place isn't the goal: completing the three laps through traffic in the fastest total time is!

Remember to save a replay of your run!

Of course, we always welcome opinions, tunes, liveries, photos, videos, or stories about the car here on the the thread!

XSquareStickIt:
how much money do you want to bet that SPD will show up in either lobby with a 4C Gr.4 or Gr.3
RX8 Racer:
Watch him rock up in the other 8C 🤣

I guess I have a thing for odd cars. Some time ago I used to repeat the Euro Clubman Cup 600 at Nordschleife over and over, while testing different cars.

The 8C Alfa was one of my favorite cars for this event. The CCCCCCCC may look weird for some, but it is a beautiful piece of a vehicle in my opinion, it sounds great and drives good too. Kind of a heavy boat but predictable and fun.

The 8C is nice, but the Disco Volante is the upgrade. Shame we don't have a model of it in a GT game yet.
You know, seeing how the SPC is based on a NFSHP event, and knowing that I still got it installed...
Why not I do both challenges in both games?

It's past midnight, so there won't be any attempts yet. But here's a edited picture I had since August 2023?

hzx copy.001.webp

On another note of last week's challenge, I knew choosing Fuji would be a pain for some. But I had a recent memory from August involving that track. Something where I destroyed my tires in the first round of a tournament, and nearly didn't make it instead of finishing 7th overall! Maybe I'll open it a bit more if a certain German car were to be a COTW anytime soon. But I'm not making any bribes to force anyone!

What was the question?
As per the announcement post, these guys are talking behind our (actually mine, but let's say it includes Past and Future SPDs) backs that I may end up driving another Alfa Romeo in the weekly lobbies.

The question was: which one? The racing 4Cs and the coachbuilt 8C came out.

I say that's rubbish, and since I'm the only person who can get this right, the only answer I can think of that better fits that criteria for my purposes is the 155. And in this performance range, I got a nagging feeling besides Alfa Romeos..

Cue the music!

What I learned from driving the 8C lately is that it's the kind of car that can only be appreciated when it's not moving. In GT7 at least.

Back on Tuesday, I did of a test run to see how it would go. I don't know if it's because it's the PS4 version, I swore I used the correct settings!
Gran Turismo® 7_20250917155526.webp

What happened to the Maserati???

But today, it took me two resets to do a full run without crashing because the car really loves to squat its power to the rears. It loves to do that to the point I really didn't find it funny anymore. By the third attempt (show in the video), I simply couldn't care anymore.

Though, I had fun creating a single livery for the Mustangs and renaming them based on some skit I saw on YT (from Adult Swim).

Hello there

The 8C (aka the Italian boat) is a car I always liked in the GT games. I like the looks, I like the gnarly sound of it and the heavy weight feeling which makes me really think about my driving. Just weird me. I know...

Two things:

1) I know I stopped writing for the time being, but I haven't stopped doing Song of The Week. The 8C's song is

Pablo Picasso
David Bowie
Reality

Oh and a NSFW warning for lyrics.

Maybe I can share a brief thought: this car's a definite Sleeper. I have reasons that attribute to the brakes, the manageable chaos, and not to mention if I said otherwise, I might find an angry mob outside my front window. But of course the real reason: it's an Alfa Romeo.

2) I'm not letting some song overshadow this one, nuh huh. So, the Wednesday lobby was a bit bare this week, especially after it's left to the two of us. Thankfully without any gay undertones running with the host and the main man SPD, I made sure that lust didn't go towards each other by tossing about any V8 powered car I can find in my garage.

And the moment I took out the uncompetitive Maserati GranTurismo, an idea hatched.

After slapping on worse rubber under the 8C, we got a nice little rendition of Beauty and The Beasts (sans bloodthirsty police) to show.

Cue the music.

This isn't the first time we had a mention of NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 here. There's that time we was sliding Pinky and the Miura around in Week 63, and..

The results for last week's SPC, the "In Pursuit of Hotness" TT, were in 13 hours ago, but it's not like anyone here still expects me to post the announcement on time anymore, right?

But that's not all! We have a second leaderboard this week for an impromptu challenge! I love it when SPCs take on a life of its own. The "This Was Somehow Calmer TT" are here!

RX8 and Hdbd trading blows on this one!

@skydragon49 has been contributing to the thread for the past few weeks, and it's time they got a chance to choose a car to feature. And the car they've gone with? It just might make one feel as though a dragon soaring through the sky, even if it can barely function as a car...

Please welcome back under the COTW spotlight, the KTM X-Bow R '12!

Gran Turismo® 7_20250922224944.webp

Of the three open top road legal track toys in GT7, the X-Bow and Radical SR3 feel a little irrelevant, as most players will be forced into buying a BAC Mono for the Trial Mountain One–Make endurance, but belying expectations, the X-Bow is being featured for a second time in COTW history, before even the Mono! Is there perhaps something to it that's being overlooked?

It's pronounced "crossbow" according to Wikipedia.

The X-BOW is a Signature Car from all the way back when I first wrote the French aristocrat driving it back in 2013.

Let's go back to Week 7, where I put this week's car to show then..

1758560393973.webp

I might go write this week. There is a script with this car I long await to make, but the chances for that is still slim.

A shame: Bonny Boy is like one of the biggest winners of development for SPD's COTW storytime/Candy's Bizarre Adventures.

An aristocratic, but overall simplistic French gentleman, carrying awards in literature as well as a well versed connoisseur of wine. But his biggest achievement is none of those, but of racing in the GT leagues, most notably being a dominating recurring champion of the Supercar Festival Leagues.

Theme Song: Yes - It Can Happen (Cinema Version)
Racing Duel Music: Yes - Love Will Find A Way
Gender: Male
Nationality: French
Age: 28
Current occupation: Race car driver
Distinct features: Clean combed back black hair, with a large white stripe in the center. Baby blue eyes, almost always seem closed. Thin mustache, wide upturned nose and mouth with regular skin tone. Slightly thin build with average height.
Choice of clothing: Fine suits are his wardrobe's modus operandi. Comes in many forms, but his favorite combine a silver slim fit suit vest and matching pants. Expensive accessories from a Rolex watch, fountain pens in his pockets, golden pins of various fancy shapes, and a pinned handcrafted gold trimmed rose (doubles as a hidden knife).
Cars: KTM X-BOW R, Alpine A110 (2017), Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Veloce, Maserati MC20, Renault R5 Turbo

Secretly referred to the as the family's little Bon Bon, Boniface is the last of 3 current generation of the infamous Richelieu of Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon: a family whose wealth surpasses many that of just about anyone in Europe thanks to their stake in developing nuclear products, particularly electrical power and energy developments worldwide. While the middle child handles this business without remorse, and the eldest sister being a very well known bounty hunter for the Assassin's Guild, Boniface himself gets his family name famous in sport, notably in race cars.

Unlike his Paris born sisters, Boniface was born when they've already retreated to Sainte-Croix. But from a young age, he was often sent to the capital to be raised by relatives, schooled in the most lofty of education institutions. As he grew up, he didn't get along with others of his age well, but rather preferred to be among other adults, eventually acting and getting along with them. While his maturity rised, his manners remained sloppy and smug, thus why he usually calls similarly aged persons barbarians, brutes, or whatever synonym he can figure out.

These connections would eventually lead to two of his life's greatest passions. Race car driving, and wine. After high school, he went on to quickly pursue them. Eventually, he would become a famed touring car racer, notably as the sport's purely clean racer with a near perfect clean race record. His interest in wine would lead them to his other life as a wine connoisseur, releasing weekly reviews to his online website. An open learner whose recently graduated with a Major in English Literature, Boniface's current focus is to help his family's financial issues, with its problems stemming from his sister's newly diagnosed complications in her heart.

Thanks to burying the hatchet with his long time Scottish rival, he's found yet another path to take in being the recurring champion of the Supercar Festival. But those skills are put to the test as he inadvertently made his way into the ranks of The Prophecy as their newest Chosen.

EDIT: this car's Song Of The Week, as foresaw by 2019 SPD..
