How to decide the Car of the Week?

  • Turismo.M.G! came up with the idea -- he should decide

Turismo.M.G! brought up a great idea -- that of having a car of the week, where one car is picked an we pick it apart; tunings, etc., the idea being that we may be introduced to hidden gems we would not have discovered, amongst other reasons. Reading the thread, though, I realized that a this won't get off the ground if we don't have a means to pick the car! Hence this poll, which I hope will be self-descriptive. Happy motoring!

How about rather than vote for the car, we can vote for the selector? It could be whoever has made the best contribution to that weeks car of the week?
 
PD should track stats for online usage and see which car is raced most often online, that will be the car of the week. Ya we're gonna see a lot of GTRs but if that's what people are racing then that pick will probably make people happy. If the same car keeps showing up at the top week after week, then it will be the 2nd most popular car for online racing the next week, 3rd most popular the week after, etc. Basically just select what people are driving the most anyway. Maybe every once in a while throw in a queer bird just to mix it up (Alpha Romeo or Sunbeam or maybe Mustang or Fireblade or something).
 
I say just choose a poster at random and let them pick the next weeks car. I don't think all the voting is needed.
 
Well I'm not sure if this will work, but what if TMG picked the first one and then you get people to race for the next pick... Turismo.M.G! picks whatever car, sets up a hot lap type of race, and whomever gets the best time picks the next car and track. I believe it was part of the plan to setup races anyways, so race to get your favorite car into the spotlight of the week!

This thread has less posts and is pretty pointless because Turismo.M.G could of just added the poll. I feel that Turismo.M.G should be in charge of COTW but others can actually decide on voting for the car.

This will make loading time longer as more data is being collected.

Just so you all know, I am brand new to this and to internet forums in general. I know this might astonish you all, but I have not figured much out at all so far. I think it is my first ever thread, so putting a poll on it seems to be running before I can walk. I have only just found out what a "sticky" is and half the terminology people use on here still doesn't mean anything to me!

I am a GT addict and car/motorsport nut and have had every Turismo game on the day of its release. I know my way around that pretty well, but GTPlanet? Just taking baby steps so far. I am sorry if I have got this all the wrong way around and not explained properly. I just thought I had a good idea!:nervous:

Agreed -- It was I who set up the poll -- Not sure how to set up a poll on someone else's thread though... We'll hack through this nonetheless!:)
