Details in the links... but anyways... HOLY COW!

It is so nice to see that even in these hard economic times that Lambo and Ferrari give the status quot the middle finger. This is what super cars should look like. Space thrusters, laser and rockers. Man I feel like I am 8 again. Hopefully thats the point.

An excellent showing form the Italians. That Lamborghini is a pretty sweet looking machine. Definitely the kinds of supercars we all grew up with.

And that Ferrari is looking very fast. What an insane looking car.

They look like space ships. :dopey:

Seriously, this is Lamborghini at its finest. A car that makes absolutely no sense & yet, wanted by the masses.

I wish the 599XX's buttress didn't have those odd wings hanging off them.

I like them. Finally, I get the point of the floating C pillars.. good stuff.
What the hell is up with the brakes on the XX?

About the Ferrari, I'm curious. We're seeing the 599XX, but where's the HGTE model Ferrari said they were showing off?

Vidi, veni, abstergi: I saw; I came; I cleaned away.

edit: WOOOOOOO!! That's the Dale Earnhardt Ferrari!

Some details on this car from Autocar...

This is the hardcore track-focused version of Ferrari's 599 Fiorano, the 599XX, which makes its public debut at the Geneva show this morning.

The 599XX gets a retuned version of the 599's V12 engine, with its rev limit boosted to 9000rpm and its weight reduced by the adoption of a new crankshaft and more extensive use of carbonfibre in ancillary parts. Ferrari says it "achieved its goal" of just under 700bhp at 9000rpm.

The power is transmitted through a new version of Ferrari's robotised manual gearbox that features shift times of just 60ms. Ferrari claims that the 599XX can lap its Fiorano test track in 1m 17sec, less than a second off the time of the Enzo-based FXX that it will replace.

The most obvious external alterations to the regular 599 are a variety of carbonfibre additions, including a small roof spoiler, carbonfibre brake disc covers and a enormous carbonfibre undertray and rear diffuser. Inside, the cabin has been stripped out to race specification, with a bare dashboard and carbonfibre cladding. It does feature a display screen, however; it's used by Ferrari's 'virtual car engineer', which provides instantaneous data on the vehicle's efficiency.

The 599XX replaces the FXX as the customer-owned testbed for Ferrari's engineers. Buyers (drawn from Ferrari's most valued customer base) will only be able to drive the car at Ferrari-nominated track days in 2010 and 2011, and they will even be able to pay for the car to be stored at a Ferrari facility. In return, Ferrari's engineers will download gigabytes of data to use in future production projects.

Earlier today at the Geneva Motor Show,Infiniti officially unveiled its new hybrid-powertrain concept car, the Essence. Embodying what Infiniti says is theessence of its brand, the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe is designed to celebrate Infiniti’s past, while show off some new technologies.

Under its svelte bodywork, the Essence is home to Infiniti’s first-ever hybrid powertrain, a 434-horsepower twin-turbo 3.7-liter V6 that teams up with a slim, disc-shaped “3D” 158-horsepower electric engine for a combined 592-horsepower.
The electric assist motor has about twice the torque of a conventional motor thanks to a layout that Infiniti says optimizes the electromagnetic coils and permanent magnets.
Inside, the Essence features custom luggage by Louis Vuitton, and a driver-focused asymmetrical cabin layout. The driver’s side of the cabin features a black “theme,” while the passenger’s side features an “earthy red theme.”
The Essence’s exterior features some familiar design cues, but it also debuts the automaker’s new “Dynamic Adekaka” design language based on Japanese traditions. A long hood and short rear deck make the Essence look more like a sports car of the past, at least proportionally, while sharp lines and complex surfacing feature details based on Japanese cultural pieces, like the “kanzashi” hairpin worn by women wearing kimonos.

So, by Infiniti's past, do they mean 2003-2009? Because that's all I see in it (though, to be honest, it isn't as if pre-2003 Infiniti was noteworthy anyways).

Car porn indeed. Between the One-77, the new 599's, Infiniti's Green Sports Car Concept, and the various Tuner cars, I'm in love with cars all over again, like they were just invented for the first time last night.

Gah, that Aston is just beautiful... such a pure shape.

Maybe it's just me but that Aston just doesn't really seem to be the most striking car ever made to me. Certainly not $1,000,000 awesome. And the integration of the brake ducts with the headlights is just wrong IMO. Maybe once I see some more conclusive angles than Autoblog provides I'll change my mind.

How about the Zagato concept?

I think it's a pretty cool looker. It's definitely a pretty cool conglomeration of elements that makes it's all too familiar GT shape still seem pretty cool. But it is the little things that definitely are that car's saving grace.

The Infiniti, however, is the opposite. I think they've crafted a very elegant looking machine, but it would be oh so much better without the strange little lines and things that just look too busy or make it look like the designers tried too hard to make something striking. And that huge grille isn't too attractive either.

The Aston is a true stunner!
Something bugs me about the 599XX though; Why didn´t they make a GT1 contender instead??

Several subtle and tasteful changes to the Murcielago. I like it. Now which game will have this car in it first so we can take it for a test drive?
I have always loved the Murcielagos and thats why I designed my real life 69 Camaro exhaust after the older Murcielago design. :sly:

Philly:It's not bad. It's sexy in an exotic, not the norm way, which is good. I'll probably fall for it more as time goes by. It actually reminds me of n2a's very similar (in design, and execution) coach built Anteros car, which I do like alot.

And I'm definitely not saying the One-77 is the most striking, but there's just something about recent Aston Martin cars that just have some kind of strange (sex)appeal to them. I just wanna kiss it, open mouth + tongue.

Which appears to be the way Aston is going lately, vents and holes. :indiff:

Agreed. More function than form. It's not bad, it probably makes for a better (as in, harder-edged) sports car, but is that what Aston Martin was about just a few years ago? Wasn't it always the gentleman's sports car or GT? Why are they trying to chase Ferrari?

Every one of those cars are absolutely stunning.

I am not, however, sure if I like the integrated brake ducting on the Aston. Get it out of the headlight...

 (Especially those air-carrier–sized haunches and how those LED striations evoke the AM logo.)

:scared: (Who let Alice Cooper hump a DB7 Zagato?)
