Paul: I strongly agree with this. Don't be in such a hurry to spend your money. The leagues are set up to be fairly progressive, so that you learn and practice as you go. Make sure you already have a good handle on the basics before you throw a lot of horsepower at the road (or wall).

In general order, I mod my cars this way:

1) super slicks
2) lightweight 1 & 2
3) suspension upgrade
4) race trans, or power upgrade
5) power upgrade, or race trans

Concentrating on handling first really helps you get the most out of your horsepower, at any power level.
