Never!
Don't know if this has been asked before but how do u repair your car? My boy had a race in my 458 and crashed a few times and now in my garage I have a poor looking 458 which is not only dirty but is scratched and very poorly looking,
I have looked through gts but haven't found anything.

Yes - is this another 'feature' Kaz is forcing on us? Un-repairable cars?

I have almost 1000 miles on my favorite Viper - and now it has a scratched and dinged left front fender and bumper - which should not be showing metal like damage, it is a plastic bumper after all.

I want to repair my best car and continue - but there appears to be no option. The damage is retained even in the paint shop :)

An option to pay to repair my car would be nice - you know, like in the real world of racing where you fix your car after it gets damaged?

Tried all those options. The damage shows on the original car, any liveries you paint, edit or create new. Not even decals cover the damage.

Hopefully it is a bug and will be addressed in the future. I have grown attached to this Viper and know I can jut buy another one, but this one has history LOL.

Many many laps of Bathurst and the Ring under those tyres.

That's weird because I've drove my 1st car which was the Audi pikes peak a lot, crashed it a lot too and repainted it. Never noticed lasting damage. I did notice my Porsche is dirty in the thumbnail though.

Metal showing through really sucks. Damage again in GT is terrible. Let's pretend it's a base layer of paint lol.

I had this issue with my GT-R GT4. I would suggest taking it to a time trial, running some good laps without wrecking, and back out to save. I know I managed to get the dirt and grime off but I don’t exactly recall how.

Personally I like the idea of persistent damage. @RC45, you say your Viper has history... the scratches is a part of the history, is it not?

A way to repair it would be nice, but the inability to do so could also serve as incentive to treat your car well.

Pretty much - I have got so used to it now, to be honest, if it suddenly became all shiny again I would be losing an old friend LOL.

*edit* and having just tempted fate, I fired up the trusty PS4 and in good old GT:S inconstancy... the bloody car is all shiny again LOL

When I put it into a Scape to take a photo of the damage is what seemed to have repaired it.

Go figure.

Hmm, and what if you drive different cars and damage them as well?

Then you will have a whole bunch of damaged cars in your garage. lol :-P

Oh really?

Good to know! ;)

This would be a great time to implement GTAuto. Car washes will actually make you look cleaner and and wash off dirt, instead of just slightly glossier. They could also add a repair shop that would fix any dents, scratches and broken headlights.

And the other question is how does the damage that stays, occur?

I just wall rode 10 laps on the speedway to try incur damage and it does not persist off the track anymore.

Do a race but only do one lap. Don't finish the lap go into the pit it will fix it

I think damage should be persistent and repairable. I think maintaining the vehicle should be a thing too. I miss the car wash and oil change. :).

For that matter how bout coolant flushes, tranny fluid, air filter, fuel filter, plugs and wires, drive belts, front end work...etc etc. That would be "the real driving simulator."
