i really wanted to hear the vtec crossover more and also whats the deal with all the hondas with race eqhuast.. they dont even sound like cars..

It would be good if they really focused on Turbo sounds, especially different types of Blow-offs. I mean you hear so many different zzzzzzz CHOOOOFS on the street and some scare the pants off old people.

From my understanding all the Blow-Offs in GT3 are the same...with the exeption of it getting a little bit louder when you upgrade.

How mad did the Nissan R34 Skyline in 2 Fast 2 Furioius sound?? Id love to hear those sounds in the game.

It couldnt be that hard to mix up a few differnt turbo sounds could it? Well maybe its hard i dunno.

The Blow offs in gt3 are kewl, but it would be evern better if they mixed it up a little and really emphasized the WOOOOSHwhen you change gear.

What do you people think?
I love hearing turbos, there tastey.
:O

I agree with hot4.like when you play GT2 you can hear the blow off valve in every view and it is really loud and fun to just rev at the starting line and hearing it.It was really anoying in GT3 when you could only hear the blow off valva in the car and even then it was still encredibly quite!

Yeah GT2 had really aggressive blow-off. :trouble:
I dunno why they made it more quiet in GT3. I mean you can still hear it, but just not as much.

What turbo car do you reckon sounds the best in the game?

Mmmmm...backfires....

I'm drooling just thinking about an Evo with the Misfiring System.....

Sorry to bring an old post back up the list. But i've been searching for this kind of information a whole lot and couldn't find anything in the stickies. ONly this thread is relevant to sound. So instead of making a new post, i'll just bring this one back.

What are the sound modes known to make it with GT4? Does Prologue have any of those? Dolby Surround, Dolby Digital, DTS?

I'd personnally wish for a very well made DDigital, or a DTS, but it does take a whole lot of place on a disc to use DTS. Although it would naturally depend on the recycling of sounds in GT4.

My main question tho, is if anyone with Prologue as any idea what sound modes there are? Does anyone have an adequat sound system to test it? That would be great.

I personally believe that in a car or any other kind of Simulations, the sounds make up almost 50% of the experience.

Thanks for your time guys!

Hiya! :D :O

For some reason, I am getting a good feeling in my heart that PD is really going to get the sounds right this time IF you dont like the car sounds in GT3. :O:O I sure do would like the car sound coming out from the exhaust system to be louder! :O I also feel abit dissapointed too sometimes when I play GT3 and kinda notice how the exhaust sound doesnt satisfy me enough, bu tI can live with it! :O:O

The sounds could do with improving i am sure they will. things like backfires, misfires and many other car noises should be added.

I just hope w'll actualy be able to see backfire/misfire flames out the exhaust sometimes.

PD could take a hint from nsfu.... the sounds in that game just rule. Drag racing, the sounds of the engines going and the gears changing... it all sounds so authentic ad life like. GT3 sounds more synthetic and processed you know? I mean.. in reality when you hear a badass car fly by you its a deafening *WHHHOOOOAAAAAAAA* or the earth shattering rumble of a muscle car. But gt's sounds are just weak to me. they get the job done, but leave more to be desired. They lack power, for the most part.

Ooooo, I just love the sound of that Neon in NFS:U...whatever!

I wonder what that Model T would sound like.
Anybody know if any diesels make it into GT4?

DTS is programmed sound, whereas DD and Prologic leave it up to your amplifier to differentiate the sounds between speakers. If GTA really does use DTS (I never bothered to find out) it is because there are so many different sounds going on
-- speech from multiple characters, engine noises, music, etc. Maybe that's why the graphics suffered (slowdown and low frame-rate).
But you get no gain in quality or clarity with DTS, just a better 3d effect.

Hey, thats up to you. The neon sounds pretty crappy, but if you like it... "whatever!"

I wasnt trying to say that the cars sounded exactly like their real life counterparts, just that the engines sounded more alive in that game than in gt3. No need to act homosexual about it. 👍

Not really sure what GT4P is programmed to output.
However i have it hooked up to my 5.1 system with an externally amplified Subwoofer, Placed under the racing seat gives that extra rumble.
The rears are functional, so definately some sort of surround.

The engine sounds are much better in Gt4P than 3.
I just love the exhaust on the Toyota Celica rally car, among many others.

Well that vid of the 'Cuda 440-6-pack that was hacked, uh well it's engine noise leaves alot to be desired! I have driven one is real life and have heard alot of em and crap that sounds nothing like one, maby if it was supercharged, but still it would be more burbly.

Non turbo id say the shelby cobra or the ford gt

Yeah, i'm expecting a lot out of the Ford GT. That car is gonna be a big problem if the game uses real-life Fuel consumtion tho... it does as low as 4 miles per galon!... can you believe that?? that's barelly 80 miles on a 70 so galon of fuel... 💡 geeez...

but.... WHAT A CAR!!!! OHYEAH! :dopey:

I don't think that's true. I believe I've read about it and it was more like 15-17mpg or something like that. The 5.4L small block it pretty economically friendly.

On Top Gear, they said it gets anywhere from 4-12 mpg.

go to a real race and enjoy how cars really sound :)

the game doesnt come close yet, misfires and little backfires sound incredible in700+hp cars bouncing around corners
