I know, but Japanese companies usually use strict codes for VIN numbers. With the VIN of any Japanese car, you can find out where it was built, the engine, and sometimes options. With the VIN of an Evo, you can find where in any given VIN number Mitsubishi places engine codes (i.e. last four characters) and then you can find out the stock Lancer's engine code with the VIN number I gave you.
