Car Strategy - Important

Hey.
I guess its not THAT important, but hey, I got you to read it!

My question is: what is your strategy when it comes to cars?
Do you keep all of the cars you win? Do you seel them becuase, of course, your F-1 car is better? Do you buy them because they're cool? Or do you save your money...for what exactly?

I have sold almost all of the cars that I won, which is a mistake, because I eventually want to get EVERY one, so I'll have to re-win them. I generally save my money, but I now how 2,600,000, so I'm thinking about starting to buy cool cars just for the hell of it even though my F/090S is better.

What do u think? :cool:
 
I keep all the cars I win unless I have 2 of them, exception ZZII! That car is awesome and I have 4 of them, my fav non-racer!!!!

I do tend to save my money, but when I started to upgrade all my normal-tuned cars I cost be over 2 million.

Must admit that since I won the F1s I haven't bought cars other than for the one make series.

I can't make myself sell anything, unless they're duplicates. Although you'll pry my second 787B from my cold dead hand...

NO JOKE! There are only two that you can get, and I'm not letting go of either one. There are a couple other cars that are "only available in limited numbers, ACT NOW!" (: Has anyone compiled a list of them yet?

Hey good point - I didn't realise you could only win it twice until you mentioned it!!!! To think I briefly considered selling it!
 
What do you mean that you can only win it twice? I've won one 787B, and would never sell it unless I had two. But if I accidentally sold both of them, then that's it?

Yup - you get it for winning gold at the 20 lapper at the Test Course, and for going past 75%. You can only complete these twice - you can win the test course race again, but you've already won the gold so you don't get the 787B again.
 
There's also only one chance to get the Acura RS-X, which can't be purchased.

Surely someone has a list?

OH! I get it. I thought that this was one of the cars that was won through a series (I didn't check my winner's list) and I wondering if maybe after two tries it just locks that car out of the random drawing or something....

Moral of the story, don't sell anything you like until you confirm that you could win another win if you wanted. Then again, my moral is don't sell anything that is not a duplicate.

I think you'd be surprised how fast your money will build up. It's not really necassary to sell any cars. Your garadge holds roughly 200 cars, and there are less than 190 in the game. Looks like there are 10 spots left for the riding lawn mower, sailboat, wood working shop, 'garadge band', storage ... ... ...

i keep all cars that i like i have 8 FTO lm's (different color) i have twelve f1 cars...etc etc i want all colors!!!!!

i got 165 cars

i have won 200 prize cars (all in all)

Okay, I don't sell cars much, but I don't get keeping all the different colors. How do you tune them all and keep them straight. Except for a few duplicates I keep (they are set-up for super speedway or test course), I only have one copy of each car, and it's set up the way I like. When I have a new race that might be challenging, I simply set the gear where I need it, and maybe tweak the diff, and that's it...
 
I happily sell cars that I can buy again cos I hate my garage being clogged up with useless rubbish, but I keep any car that you have to win to own and can only get once.

I am haunted by the 'cappuchino incident' in GT2. Sold the damn thing as soon as I bought it and when I needed one for a cup I had no idea where it was!!!! I am therefore a little wary of selling cars you can't buy.

I've got about 5,000,000 Cr now so why would I need to sell anything anyway.

And I will be holding onto that second 787B however poor I get (just won it last night - 75% woo hoo!!).
 
Where does all my money go?

Maybe if I didn't tune the living daylights out of everything I lay my hands on...

i keep every car that has ever raced for me and won!! Its like a special connection I guess, I figured if i put some effort and cash in making it win, I should let it hang around my garage... I still have my mita (first car) ;)

Well, the first thing I'd do is get another memory card and fill it with 787Bs too (: Nah, I just want to be able to replace them after I rag them out real good. I know I'm going to need another R390 Race Car when I finish the series I'm on now ...

Yeah - you need to clone them now, 'cause once they're dead they're dead - s'pose you could run a 100bhp one in the Sunday Cup...
 
i've mostly sold duplicates, sometimes if it's a car i really like, for example the rx-7 RZ which i won in orange, and you can only buy in white, i'll keep that, but generally will only keep cars i have mileage on, something about drivin' em makes em harder to part with =p but god knows how many vette c5r's i've won now, musta sold like 3 of em so far
 
I'm going for the whole set, I have around 100 and I take turns racing and modifying them.

Hey I noticed that too. Why is it possible to win colors that you can't buy? I've got a purple Skyline of the newest model, but that's not a color option when purchasing them.

What's up with that?
