Anyone else think this show is rigged? There have been a couple of them where I really thought the Challengers won, but somehow, the all-stars always win. If I were a customizer, I just wouldn't do it no matter how good I was.

But, I think Jessie James should enter.

It wouldn't hurt to post a video of the show so at least those who don't watch the show aren't blank-slated.

I watched 5 minutes and thought it was rigged.

Trailer for it.

The El Camino episode was the worst. The Challengers clearly did a better job (The all-stars actually had a door panel fall off when one of the judges got in.) and the reason they lost was...because there was no airbrushing? Really? That's it? "Well, you guys did a better job, but because we're rat bastards we're gonna give it to the all-star losers 'cause you didn't do any airbrushing."

They need to fire the West Coast Crappers guy ('cause Pimp My Ride sucks) and hire Jessie James. At least he wouldn't give a crap about what the producers want.

I've only seen one full episode the other night, and yeah, the "All-Stars" totally ruined a perfectly good Z. They should be ashamed of themselves. No clue how they won. Who cares if they were being "creative", you don't mess with a classic.
Their design looked like a car a 5 year old would draw up.

Yeah, building a knock off of the Speed Racer car would be like the challengers taking a Charger and making into a general lee knock off. I still say they cheated, too, since they first filled the molds with seat foam and had to rebuild. I went away at commercial, came back and magically the body was complete other than the sanding and painting. WTF? How?

To be honest though, the challengers didn't really go far with their build, it was basically just a mildly customized Z with a V8 (didn't seem like they had a very good team either, what was with that guy's girlfriend?). I do agree though that the challengers should have gotten the El Camino win though, however they may have also gotten knocked for not doing anything with the bed area.

Overall though, the premise is interesting and the ideas the teams think up are pretty cool.

That Car Science show on afterward however is a crappy show IMO. It's only half hour long and they repeat the same exact episode afterwards, even though they show the rerun a few hours later!

The Car Science show would be better with a different narrator. It sounds like a kids show...but...really isn't.

Agree, it seems like a kids show that is trying to hard, I suppose to try and make it interesting. I would oddly prefer a voiceover similar to that of the Modern Marvels show along with a more technical production style.

There was a show on not too long ago that was like this, but way better. Had Chip Foose as a judge. They had to compete to see who makes the better underwater car, cars that fly and crazy stuff like that. I think it was called Ultimate Car Build or something like that. I forget the channel it was on.

There's not too many cool car shows on anymore. Other than Top Gear, the only one I really like to watch is Wheeler Dealers. Too bad they hardly ever show it on HD Theater anymore.

Yeah I think I remember what you're talking about, I remember the one where they had to put the fronts of two cars together, and make it so they could separate and drive around. I missed a lot of the episodes, so I was hoping they would show reruns.

The Ultimate Car Build Off. I liked that one, too. It was like a Monster Garage competition. Like the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Scion build.

glad you guys enjoyed Ultimate Car Build Off. I was the executive producer. unfortunately it's unlikely there will be a season 2. after the show was filmed, there was a change at the top of Discovery, and when the show started airing we received absolutely zero publicity, promotion, or advertising. the ratings weren't bad, but not big enough to convince the new head of Discovery to order a season 2. I also worked on and ended up running Monster Garage for a few years. the Rock Em Sock Em episode was one of my favorites. next to the brewery on the back of the firetruck. but they do keep running Ultimate Car Build Off over and over on Discovery HD, so someone's watching. and they're running it on Discovery Turbo in England, so now it's gone overseas. I'm always trying to get another car show up and running.

Too bad Jessie James won't agree to restarting Monster Garage. It sucks that show got cancelled. By the way, the last episode where Jessie ran the Baja 1000...apparently he liked it so much that he now runs it every year and his Baja 1000 truck was even featured in Dirt 2. And I was awesome to see the Monster Garage cars get auctioned off at Barett-Jackson. :)

Heck, if they would just put the rest of Monster Garage on DVD (as well as rerelease the first three seasons for people who don't have them), I would be happy since I never really got to see anything from seasons 4 or 5.
