Most important for me, "GTP forums say people in GT4 are 3D" NOT ALL! there are still stupid cardboard people in it, after seing over 10 videos and 100 screenshots I managed to spot them and I must say it really upset me, **** sake! I mean you make a game as amasing and realistic as GT4 and 3D people and just for measure you ruin it all by sticking some cardboard people in it also. Up until I seen that I was still tempted to stay with the PS2 but not anymore. I hate cardboard people in driving games and for more than 3 ******* years I've waited for the next GT only to see the main thing that put me off GT3 return. Grr :sick:

How about calming the **** Down, it's not the end of the world.............yet!!

From what i read the people should be 3D in the final version of GT4, you havnt seen a vid form the full game yet, every vid we have seen from GT4, not GT4:P have been early version vids, so i think you should wait till the game is released or until we see a proper vid from the finished game before making judgment.

BTW, what you like and what you want is your perogative, but people, who really cares about the people being 3d, it dont make no difference to me, unless i am driving like a sunday driver not going over 60km/h and can actually take notice of them. Either way ill be fanging the cars around as much as i can and people around the circuit does not bother me one bit, as far as im concerned its just another pointless addition.
 
It will be noticeable in replays, photo mode, and well if you can't do something right don't do it. S***! It's like making a beautiful, fast, great handling, confortable car and sticking a cardboard passenger seat because you ran out of material. :crazy: It just ruins the whole game immersion experience. You spend 3 years of getting real-life car sounds and real-life textures just so you can get as close to realism perfection as possible and then stick a cardboard spectator crowd on the track. Retarded :yuck:

Why can't they just keep the 3 d people in only. Who gives a **** if the'e is fewer people on the track? Who cares if there are any people on the track they're not real... I'd prefer just higher detailed pit crew, start/finnish flag holders, driver of higher quality and no spectators until we have the hardware to do them properly. Project Gotham 2 has no spectators and I never missed them.

EDIT: Cardboard people are also stuck in between 3D people in crowds.

Umm in GT4P the crowds may not be totally 3D but they do run out onto the track and run back. Isn't that enough for you, who cares how detailed the crowds are when your flying down the road in your souped up skyline. There are more important things to worry about then 3D crowds.

I'm 28, own a highly modified 1991 M3 E30 BMW (0-60MPH around 5.5s and top speed around 175MPH). Live in England, always loved the GT series but lost a bit of faith with GT3.

I did loose it a bit because of this:

I showed a friend who does not play video games 2 trailers. 1st Forza Motorsport and he said it was the best driving game he's seen yet. Then I showed him GT4 and he thought it was real life footage and waiting for the in-game stuff... So when you have created a masterpice of a driving game and people like me will drool over it why on earth stick cardboard spectators, in 2004 on a PS2 after more than 3 years in development. Those were the days of the Spectrum and NES and Masterdrive... It just breaks the spell under most of us eager gamers gave been under since the first details of GT4 appeared....

Oh, and what Border figurine and what's an ip ban?

Also keep in mind that people are allowed to their views and I just expressed what my views were and not that you kids should adopt them. You may choose to read my thread you may agree or disagree but don't attack me personally as I have not attacked any of you. Thank You.

Hmmm.. I for one, could care less - I hardly look at the spectators as I'm usually trying my best to keep my ass on the road (and usually failing miserably at it :grumpy: )

Well, if you don't like having 2d spectators in the game don't buy it.

I don't understand what this thread will achive barring people moaning about this that and the other is missing from GT.

The reason PS2 doesnt have all these little extra details is because the hardware can't handle it. Look at the latest Winning 11 game (football game, known as pro evo) they've added so many extra graphical effects like having a ref run around on the pitch, better animated crowds, realistic cutscenes etc and now it slows down while your playing it.
 
I'm not looking much at the crowd while playing, not even while watching the replays. I'd rather have realistic damage and no crowd at all than 3D crowd and no damage.
I can play 'The Sims' when I want to see 3D dumb people.
 
Obviously in the final version EVERY person won't be 3d, but I expect the ones that are nice and close will look alot bettert then the onces in the distance. I for one think it looks pretty nice.

ppl buy GT4 becoz they want a driving game with excellent physics and tons of variety of tracks and cars to play with. They don buy the game for 3D spectators. If u want to play a game with 3D ppl in it then buy a F@#$!#$ fighting game.

Code_Kev do the cows in GT4 have to be 3D before you will buy it, or would you be happy with 2d ones. PD demand to know. LOL :crazy:

"Once again for the cheap seats in the back" I would rather have no spectators at all, or just the few ones that are 3D. I like Project Gotham 2 because there are no spectators at all. I never said I wanted spectators or that they were more important than fog, cars, track or anything else you morons. I just said that the fact that they were put in as 2D cardboards put me off. Don't get funny with me as I have already told you I've not done so with you. :grumpy:

Did anyone notice that the spectators look like rejects from the sims game?? :lol: ,oh no maybe ive just spoilt the realism for him, welcome to GTP ;) , I just dont get what ur moaning at tho, 2D or 3D who cares when they go past in a flash as you speed at 120mph, Im more concerned about the speedo saying KPH not MPH I think this is more important than 3D crowds.

I was frustrated with the fact that for me Gran Turismo 4 has been a long wait and I guess I want it perfect in my eyes. :guilty: Hence my post, and then to come on here and people don't say well, maybe this would be better of I don't know ideas sugesstions, dissagreements. No they get nasty, sarcastic and the funny thing is most of them did not even understand my post properly anyway.

I came on here to post my views not to attack or get attacked personally and no, I'm not Jesus, I give as good as I get.

Oh and if you think I'm here to make friends to people that have been as funny as that with me after just joining the forums you are sadly mistaken bro...

It's just because we've had threads like this loads of times, so after the 9 billionth thread asking for a Ferrari in GT4 people tend to get sarcastic. For example there was a thread where someone was moaning about reverse lights. To be honest this forum is a little redundant at the moment. I'd rather it just allow permissioned users to post new media and news in it.

Oh and Code_Kev is just a tad obnoxious, but the ignore list works well.

At least PD has added spectators, even if some are 2d, like i said it's not the end of the world. I am a fair person, but for people to say they wont buy a game, which mind you is about CARS, just coz there are either 2d crowds, 2d trees, no reverse lights, not enough detail on the drivers, irritates me.

GT is all about the cars, the amount of cars, the variety, the enjoyment, i highly doubt anybody buys GT for spectators, if they did they would seriously be idiots. You my friend are just being too damn picky, why cant you just be happy with what they are doing. Why cause a fuss over afew 2d spectators which you wont even notice. You said yourself you would prefer no spectators rather than 2d ones, well i said above that they said they will have 3d spectators but i doubt every spectator will be 2d but none the less, they will be the one spectators you will notice.

IF you choose not to buy this brilliant game coz of afew 2d spectators, then it is your loss.

As for telling people not to get funny with you as you havnt done so to them, calling people thick is gettin funny with them, so make sure you know what your typing. Basically you wrote one thing on one line of your post, and completely contradicted it in the next line, insulting people is not needed.
