I got some strange feeling that when i drive in "Free mode" although i turn all aids off, that my car behaves like i am in arcade mode, it is somehow easy to drive, not like when i drove licences...
I can brake very late, my car have better handling... am i just tripping, or what..??

I think the license test cars are on "Control" tyres of some sort (on the screen it says "COM" or something for tyre types?? anyone confirm?) whereas arcade it will be most likely S3 tyres you'll have, giving you more grip, hence better handling/later braking.

Ok, nevertheless, it can't be just in tyres, but somehow it is easy to drive, although in "free run" i ve only tried week Mazda 6concept, and Lancer EVO VI Tomi Makinen edition, which is easy to drive...
It seems like i can't get off the road, so easy to drive, while in lessons an missions it is so hard to drive(which is better), i don't like that easy drive arcade feeling. .. cars are hard to control, and behave more realisticilly then in free run....

Litlle offtopic, do you guys know what i can put under my pedals, i want them to be more hard to press, i want them to be just like in real life, a litlle hard on the foot... I am using Formula force GP wheel, and pedals are so easy to press, they give no ressistance, so what should i put under, have any of you tried something like that, some tennis ball or something, although tennis ball is too hard to press....
Thanks... 👍

Ok, nevertheless, it can't be just in tyres,

I think you might be quite surprised just what a difference Comfort tyres will make.

Remember the only part of a car in contact with the road are those four little contact patches, they effect how you accelerate, brake and corner; and in a bigger way than most people appreciate.

I don't think you have the aids(TCS, ASM) in Missions and Tests. Acade mode has the SAME physics engine as the GT mode. Choose the right tyres and turn off the aids, it will be harder to drive.

The game sets the car up specific to the situation your put in.
E.g, the Hong Kong test in the MGF. It's practically set to oversteer like hell. Go in a stock MGF and you'll immediately see the difference. I think it's like this because PD wanted people to do licenses under varying circumstances to increase the enjoyment.

THis is very true ... I actually made a thread about it some time ago. I was annoyed at my performance in this very license test, so I went off and bought the MGF so I could practice a few laps in 'free mode' ... it was an entirely different beast and MUCH easier to handle than the licensed version of the same car.

The conclusion was - as in this thread - that it was all about the tires and driving aids.

a bit OT, but I remember the tests in GT3 where you had to take a Ruf through a series of twisties on the complex string test course. There were two identical tests, the first had TCS and ASC on while the second had all aids turned off. It took me at least a dozen goes to pass the first test (and then only just), but I passed the second test first go and got silver - the car felt completely different and it suited my driving style better.

I guess the point is that as MdnIte says, PD want players to be tested by the settings and using a car that is set up to behave out of character is a good way to do this. It's a shame they didn't take this a step further, and try to educate players in the difference that small changes to suspension setup can make. This would be far more useful to players than simply asking them to beat a time on a set section of track in cars that you have little idea of what the settings are.

So, the Comfort tires gives you more "realistic" feeling to the car...?
I don't want my car to have good handling, i like that feeling when i loose control over the car, so i have to react quickly in order to get it back, i mean that's whole point of Simulation.. the harder the better, for me...
