Cars faster than a Veyron

Tuned ACR Viper accelerates a bit faster but up top it tops out around 255mph whereas the Veyron goes a bit north of 260mph. So if its a top speed contest then Veyron is king of street cars. Circuit track with left and right turns an ACR, Speed 12, Mclaren F1 etc would clean its clock.

My Viper gts 02' beats it, and even competes with on straits, then because I don't have to allow down to 40mph to take a turn, I beat it

I think only the ACR and TVR Speed 12 even have a chance. Both are Rwd though and that Speed 12 will burn the tires 'til 4th gear.

The Escudo won't do it as it tops out at about 200 mph. (Plus all the power is at the top end and there's almost none at mid-low to it's tricky to get the gearing right.)

The TVR Speed 12 is the only one out of every car Ive tried and I have nearly every high hp car in the game.

ONLY way you'll win is having downforce in the rear set to 80 (with a spoiler) and launching in 3rd gear. I can usually keep up with a fully tuned (1256 HP) bugatti from launch and slowly pull away from them, if not they will have me a bit on launch but I'll still win.

This is running 1/4 miles at Top Gear track.

Ive also Timed my Speed 12 hitting 60 mph in 2.05 seconds launching from a start on high speed ring supercar festival before the patch (pausing as soon as i hit 100 km/hr and looking at total time), now its a rolling start though.

Ecchi-BANZAII!!
Kinda far-fetched since there is the Veyron SS.

Then the new generation aero will come out and we'll have a never ending circle of the worlds fastest production cars, which might not be a bad thing

If you're looking at it that way then the OP is offtopic with the forum, as there is no drag racing in GT5.

Racing cars will beat the Veyron in straight line race, i don't think there are any road cars that will do it.

I don't think any cars period will beat the Veyron in a straight line. I was using an FGT in a bring what you got room online and soon as the race starts, there was a Veyron behind me that basically left everyone in the dust off the line, including me. We were at Sarth so I quickly over took him at the first parts of the track until we got to the Mulsanne, when the Veyron over took me again, but than I started drafting him so it wasn;t too bad :sly:.
Only X1 is faster.

The Veyron in a straight line will decimate every street car, the end. It goes from one end of the Top Gear Test Track runway to the other in just over 15 seconds. Apart from the X1 smashing the Veyron, the Nissan R92CP can compete against it from a standing start all the way to 400km/h+ and for off the line, the Audi R8 5.2 FSI & Audi Le Mans Quattro can match it off the line to 160km/h. Don't get me into the GT-R, it won't get near it and plenty of GT-R owners have found that out quite quickly.

The main cars that will match up against a Veyron over a lap of SSR7:
Dodge Viper ACR
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
Ferrari Enzo
TVR Cerbera Speed 12
McLaren F1
Audi R8 5.2 FSI
Audi Le Mans Quattro
Audi Nuvolari
Saleen S7

All those cars can slipstream to the same speeds as the Veyron.

Veyron should beat a Mclaren F1 around daytona. Veyrons can actually turn pretty decent and they have massive ammounts of traction, but yes the speed comes in the straights and the lighter cars have an advantage in corners, but Daytona is not corners in the traditional sense ^^. On the top gear test track i was running almost a second faster with the Mclaren F1 than i was in the Veyron (both standard). In its power range the Mclaren F1 is the fastest road car around a track, Veyron is the fastest where it can take advantage of top speed.

Should be said tho that the Mclaren F1 can keep up on the straights in a draft (probably other cars too), due to how over the top unrealistic the drafting is in GT5, drafting provides an absolutely massive performance boost and the F1 has the gearing to keep up with it all the way, so could compete in a race at La sarth, assuming it can stay close enough to the Veyron to stay in draft range.

These are the top speed times i logged a while ago at SSR7 for standard cars. (Missing a few, but will give you an idea)

Bugatti Veyron 16.4 '09 @1007Bhp - 242Mph

Pagani Zonda R '09 @753Bhp - 225Mph*

Mclaren F1 Road '94 @657Bhp - 223MPH

Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 (C6) 09' @652Bhp - 219Mph

Ford GT '06 @ 561Bhp - 215mph

Top speed difference in the Veyron may not be enough to allow it to pull away from a drafting car. Though the Veyron is hardly slow in the corners either, and acceleration wise it will beat all the above.

just because there is no drag strip in GT5 DOES NOT make this off topic.... plenty of tracks have long enough straights... again with the annoying ass "your post is off topic" NAZIS!

Weep that it's standard, but the R230 SL600 can be tuned to over 1000hp and can weigh less than a regular Veyron. It's FR though, like the Viper.

My Veyron have 1274hp and when i used to drag race online in SS7, there wasn't another street car that can keep up with mine. I tried many other cars I have and the big Bug is still the fastest.

Am I the only one who thinks that a Murcielago and Corvette ZR! RM can outperform the Veyron? I tested my Veyron out online after tuning it to nearly 1,200 HP and I was disappointed to find out that even after adjusting speed to 298 MPH, it still only goes 238 MPH tops (I saw this on the La Sarthe (No Chicane) course, which I think is a reasonable gauge of speed).

Either I suck at gear tuning or I'm calling BS on people who say that a Veyron is undoubtedly the fastest car in the game.

Its easily you. Mine does 265 MPH on the same straight, and that's without drafting.

Everytime I mess around with the Veyron, I scream out "MAX POWAH!!" when hammering it, and then "OH 🤬!" when a turn comes up.:)

Great car for pure speed. For everything else? Meh...

The Veyron can only take the corners at daytona at max 240 km/hr while all the group c / lmp / other race cars (zr1 rm) exceed 320 around the corners so yeah of course its gonna lose.

But still like I said, the TVR speed 12 is the only car that can win in a 1/4 mile drag that Ive found.

Cars Ive tried and failed with include,

ZR1 RM
Ford GT
Viper ACR
Cadillac Cien
Toyota Minolta
Nissan R92CP
Peugoet 905
Sauber C9
XJR 9 LM
Vertigo Race Car (which is very fast btw)

and probably a few others

My TVR is the only one that succeeds. (although i havent maxed the rear downforce on the LMP/Group C cars so I can see them keeping up as well)

In my hands, the McLaren F1 is the only road car to match my Veyron's 269mph speed. ZR1 can't do it, but I bet you could slip enough parts in a SL65 AMG to try against it.

I'll race against you and I don't need 1274hp either (my Veyron has 1224hp, not broken in fully yet). If you can match my launch then I'll be a bit scared because I know how well the TVR can pull from 100km/h to 360km/h.

I've found it sad that other people can't simply tune this car on a straight line as I've destroyed every Veyron I've come across at either TGTT or Tunnel Dragging SSR7. I'm constantly badgering them saying they must be stuck in 3rd gear with the distances I've been winning by.

An R92CP will match the Veyron from a standing start, while I have been beaten by about 3 carlengths by an FGT at the TGTT, and that was after getting a good 3 car lead off launch, the mid range of that car is phenomenal. 👍

just get in your speed 12, turn rear downforce up (which reduces turning to literally 0 >.> ) and launch in 3rd gear with gearing set to 480. I even turned up my 1st /2nd /3rd gears so instead of 180km/hr max in 3rd i hit 220, so now i just launch in 3rd and pull even harder then before.

bugattis launch in 2nd and hit 150~ i think? before shifting

edit:

and yes i agree the r92 is seriously insane. it technically should be tunable to 1200 hp as it says in the description it was turned up that much (boost) during qualifying :(

nah it tops out hp and torque 996/1050 at 5500~ rpms same reason tvr cant pull as hard because its top hp is at 6900 and it revs to nearly 9k

Before I answer can I just say, "YES!! SOMEONE ELSE WORKED IT OUT!!"

The amount of people that I see launch in 1st is hilarious and they wonder why they're 10 lengths behind before we hit 1/2 way down the TGTT runway!! I sit there thinking, "because you can't drive for peanuts maybe?" and then whip them again and again.

Bugatti's hit 115km/h in 2nd gear off the launch to redline off the stock 480km/h gearbox. So the stock 2nd gear has become my 1st gear off my tuned gearbox. :trouble:;)

Yeah I know, and it makes me think of how crazy the R89C can be since that was a quicker car off the line. :D

I raced three times at Sarthe sine Chicanes today and there was a Veryon in every race. My GTR V-spec 09 finished first and second (to a Viper) every time. Veryons are not suited for most race tracks. Top speed means nothing if you can't steer.

yeah but im thinking if you stretch out 2nd a bit maybe it would be close to 150.

i know that my tvr hits 220 in 3rd though and ive measured 0-60 in <2.5 seconds (i cant remember exactly how much) from the start of a non rolling race and then pausing at 100km before so i know that it is pretty close to the bugatti.

and that is with downforce in the middle for my racing tune that i pull 57s at high speed ring with.
