It was 115km/h with the 480km/h (298mph) gearbox, couldn't stretch it anymore.

i know that my tvr hits 220 in 3rd though and ive measured 0-60 in <2.5 seconds (i cant remember exactly how much) from the start of a non rolling race and then pausing at 100km before so i know that it is pretty close to the bugatti.

I'm well under the 2 second mark, I'll time it exactly tonight and let you know, but I'm definitely under the 2 second mark. End to end I'll do the TGTT runway in under 16 seconds.

and that is with downforce in the middle for my racing tune that i pull 57s at high speed ring with.

The SL 65 AMG can obtain exactly 1,000hp and can do at least 250mph on the straight in Sarthe or hit 240mph+ in the tunnels at SS7.

If you max tune it with the Mid-Range Turbo, you'll achieve 1,000hp (after oil change/engine rebuild). Mine hits 250mph on a long enough straight (Sarthe) with only a Stage 1 weight reduction at 1815kg. From a roll, I bet it could take a Veyron or at least keep up with it - especially with a full weight reduction.

I think a lot of it might have to do with the type of engine. The SL 65 utilizes a big V12 w/ turbo... the powerband is extremely broad and with a mid-range turbo in place it can be quite suprising. I think having a broad powerband is key and usually the bigger engines produce them most noticeably.

I'll race against you and I don't need 1274hp either (my Veyron has 1224hp, not broken in fully yet). If you can match my launch then I'll be a bit scared because I know how well the TVR can pull from 100km/h to 360km/h.

I've found it sad that other people can't simply tune this car on a straight line as I've destroyed every Veyron I've come across at either TGTT or Tunnel Dragging SSR7. I'm constantly badgering them saying they must be stuck in 3rd gear with the distances I've been winning by. :cool:

An R92CP will match the Veyron from a standing start, while I have been beaten by about 3 carlengths by an FGT at the TGTT, and that was after getting a good 3 car lead off launch, the mid range of that car is phenomenal. 👍

If people were racing standard Veyrons (or atleast standard power) this would be more interesting, but if you're tuning the Veyron then the list of options to compete with it falls dramatically, since there are very few cars that can reach numbers high enough to compete.

Its a shame that you cannot tune Skylines properly, in real life it's quite common to see them passing the 1000bhp mark, and in old games it was possible to tune up high, but not anymore it seems.


I would be surprised if tuned Group B cars or the FGT could not keep up with a tuned Veyron though.


If you're looking at power to speed, the Veyron isnt as good as other cars.

Standard Veyron at 1007bhp will do 242mph at SSR with no drafting, a tuned Mclaren F1 at 860bhp will do around 246mph with no drafting. That is less power and more speed, but due to the Veyrons huge ammounts of traction it would still lose in a drag race most likely, but around Sarth, Veyron would not likely win.
 
I have a Veyron, all the upgrades and geared to top speed. I have not touched suspension because I wouldn't know what to do!

Anyhow , I just ran the straight at Le Sarthe and top speed was as follows:

Down the straight 269mph.
Up the straight just, and I mean just, hit 271mph.

Would taking good advice on suspension settings help in straight line speed?

I had a play with the gearing and the best I could do is..... 275mph and 270mph.

I have done this experiment in two player... with my sister controlling an auto veyron (she's nine) at top gear, with me in the mentalist sl65. I launch from second and spend the whole runway pulling AWAY!
I also beat a veyron in the run to turn one in the supercar challenge race, in my Avantime! XD
 
whats the fastest around daytona solo?

i couldnt get my veyron around daytona fast at all, it dropped off my top 10 practice times real quick.

the viper, speed 12, and cien were some of the fastest street cars - all getting around in under 40 seconds.

when i started using race cars they quickly dropped from the top 10 list.

toyota gt-one was my fastest around in 36.1 seconds!

note that i dont have every car in the game. this was in practice with no drafting. the ferrari f1 and fgt couldnt keep up, neither could the nascars.
 
I did some test with this, i ran a lap around La Sarthe in both a standard Veyron 16.4 and a standard Mclaren F1, sports soft tyres on both. The Veyron came out about 1second faster.

In a race that means that if the Mclaren can draft the Veyron down the main straight then the Mclaren would win the race.

Actually I just got mine to hit 260 at Sarthe (Mulsanne) and 258 at SS7 (tunnel), both on return trips. 👍 Also I'm using the high range turbo (980hp)

Only problem with the SL 65 is either it has a TON of wheel speen like the Speed 12 or it has a TON of lag. lol I haven't been able to find a good balance of the two, but the wheel spin isn't too bad.
 
I wasnt saying that it doesnt hit 250 mph.
I find it has next to no lag and barely any wheelspin compared to the speed 12.

The Mid Range turbo has a loooot more torque.

Pretty sure that Im unable to get over 250 MPH though. I barely got up to 245 by the time my SLR was at 250 so I cant see you ever hitting 260.

(Tried using search, found nothing) If there is a thread direct me to it. In a drag race are there any cars that can beat a Veyron, this excludes the X1, FGT, and obviously the F10 and 07. And I'm looking more specifically for street cars but if there are any race cars thats fine.

P.S. Veyron 's and X1's annoy me :grumpy:

race tune an Audi R6 ( the estate one ) and change the gear ratio's a bit, Mine can kill a fully tuned veyron on a long stretch of road.

The High-Range turbo does have noticeable turbo lag (especially when you're running full circuits, not just straights) but also allows for higher speeds.

I've tested with the Mid-Range turbo with many different setups and would barely break 250mph and it would maybe do 255mph on returns. It is quick, but the power is short lived.

Anyway...
Of course 1,000hp AWD is going to crush anything off the line - but in terms of sheer top speed the SL 65 is faster than a stock Veyron and not much slower than a tuned one.

Yeah you are right, I can see it with the high rpm now as it would let you keep full power a bit further in each gear meaning once the air started resisting alot at high speeds it could pull a bit harder, I barely hit 250 with the mid turbo. Sad because so many other cars should go faster!

I dont see how you got 999 / 1000 hp though, mine is fully tuned brand new oil and broken in and is at 996 hp / 1050 torque. Not possible to go any higher.

And for me at 940 HP with top speed at 450 it stops pushing at 370~ due to air resistance.
 
the tvr cerebra will smash it in a straight line as it has 1000 odd hp and only weights around 900kg
 
My ford gt reaches 254mph without slipstream, with slip on ssr7 I once managed over 300mph drafting an x1 LOL, with around 880hp that's great. Oh i love my GT :D
 
the speed 12 beats pretty much every car up until 235 mph

there are a few cars pretty equivalent to the ford gt.

Don't get me into the GT-R, it won't get near it and plenty of GT-R owners have found that out quite quickly. :cool:

so not even a fully tuned specV gt-r can get close? I had high hopes for that ones, since it has 850hp weighs way less than a veyron and has awd.. (and there is a real life tuned gtr that goes to 60mph/100kmh in 2,8 seconds)

but I'm not much of a online racer so I'll believe you :)

How about.. a fully tuned caterham?, well not till 400kmh ofcourse but to 100?
 
the caterham's acceleration is 3x slower then what it should be.

in other words no, the caterham should be way faster then it is.

and the gtr spec v can hit maybe 370 as well
 
An interesting video here. A stock Veyron against two 730bhp GTRs. They are from rolling starts, but the second GTR gives it quite a run for it's money.



As for in game, I've found nothing. I had quite a close race down the back straight at Indy Road Course with a with a stock Veyron in an Escudo with Racing Hard tyres on. I don't think anything will touch a tuned Veyron though, in a straight line at least.
 
Like I said a TVR Speed 12 pulls harder and goes faster up until 230 mph or so

very sad how slow that gtr on that video is, there is a vid of a b18 turbo civic that is pulling HARD at 270 km/hr, could probably hit 330+ easily
