So I was browsing autospeed magazine, and I came to the conclusoion that Australia is a hot rodder's paradise. From turbo I-6 Fords that never see the states, to LS1s with individually ram-tuned intake runners...what is it about the laws or people there that make such tuning so common? You never see that in the states.
It seems like every car is RWD with a V8 option. GM and Ford gave up on this long ago in the States and just sell us boring FWD V6 imitations of Japaense Corollas and Camrys that barely make decent fleet cars. Either that, or the hideous excess of jacked-up SUVs and HD pickups.
You guys get a DOHC 5.4 L "Boss 260" in a Falcon XR8--we get it in a Navigator whose dynamic characterisitcs resemble something that should be hauling lumber. Our Ford sedan, the Five Hundered, doesnt even have a V8 option.

How come the US is left to drool while you guys get the cool suff?
I'm so jealous.
