cars from the sky

Today during a race all sorts of bizarre things were going on. Cars were raining from the sky, people going full speed backwards on the lawn, cars being beamed in and out before my eyes. Blue dots way off the track at the north end.... WOW! I thought I must have entered into a cool Car-Asteroids version: try and avoid the falling Ford GTs while dodging bouncing cars all around. Whoopeee!!! It was fun and was over much too quickly.

No doubt some "hosting" individual had a flakey internet connection they warn you about... such that craaayyyzzzeee things start happening.

Anyone have surprising thing go on during a race? Not just antimatter "I see dead cars" kinds of things.
 
Damn it. Really it did. Honest! I was probed too. Would you like me to tell you where? LOL.

No. Yes it did, really. Vertically oriented cars swooped down from the sky.
 
Could that have been at the daytona oval race at about 8:45 pm eastern time with about 16 cars. It was the only race I didn't host tonight but I was there I got slammed into the wall so hard My red bmw m3 felt like it might have been in the air the car was spinning so fast I couldn't tell.

Thought drugs were only legal here in holland, what have you been taking?

(just joking) ;) yeah sometimes strange things can happen, never seen it so strange though, must been one hell of a race haha

hahaha,funny guys....this is not a joke,this happened to me too several times and i have read these things here on the site several times too...
its all got to do with a faulty connection of the host guys,really!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

last week i started a race on daytona and whas in 2nd position before the starting line,suddenly all cars where flying all over the place,i whas BANGED left and right and before the race actually started i whas down in 12th position....than as i crossed the starting line the race whas disconnected.....
so praystashun is not joking,and saying he is on drugs i honastly think is a bit childish thing to say......sorry!!

spyrrari, what your describing is lag problems, we have all experienced it before. What this guy is discribing is nonsense.

edit:i have seen a car in front of me once wich had no wheels under it....
and no,i dont take drugs.....

I have seen cars boost up to first place at like 200 mph before the race starts, and I have seen cars leave the race race before it starts so there is a gap between the cars.

The only time i've seen a car with no wheels under it, is when it's been jacked for it's rims LOL.
 
@spyrrari: i was not seriously about the drugs lol, read the sarcasm ;) strange things happen in gt5p we all know.
 
ive seen all this stuff happen before turkeyburger. so i beleive u. cars driving backwards and being unable to overtake them, all sorts of wierd stuff. i just put it all down to lag and wait for the next race. also, Trick-R is incredibly fast.

exactly. The "your on drugs" reference was humour. Read how the guy describes it, it's surreal to say the least.
 
i know guys,but humor and drugs do not go together for me....
seen some horrible stuff happen to people and did not find that funny in any way.....

I've had the same kind of weird thing happen when you enter an on-line game and the host has already quit or somthing and the dashboard/cockpit view is bigger - kind of like you have leant forward in your seat - it looks wicked but then it goes back to the on-line connect to a game window - too short to take a screen grab of it.

I also find it funny when you enter the game and some of the players leave just as the cars are shown going around the track and you get a load of ninja /karate swoosh noises as the cars go past and then dissapear cos the driver has disconnected.

I've had this happen as well.

I also set up another car for a slipstream out of the final corner at HSR perfectly only for his car to disappear and then reappear further up the track.

This is a very funny thread, but in a good way. loads of negative vibes going on at the moment. This makes a refreshing change. :)
 
I have to admit, I have not had the pleasure of cars dropping in on me from the sky yet, but I have seen some freaky stuff. Like for instance, cars appearing right in front of me, and brining me to a complete stop, and I mean a complete stop! As in 190mph to 0mph in less than an inch!
 
I've had the AI on the rolling start crash me and some other players before the race actually started - usually on Suzuka
 
What keeps happening to me is,
When the race starts I have no car, just a view of the track,
I can see and hear the other people as they drive past and stay there for the whole race, like a replay with one view. :scared:
It keeps happening at Fuji and now you cant quit the race it is very annoying.
Has this happened to anyone else?
 
Yes I've had this happen but not since the last update. It is funny though. Do you still get prize money or do you have to quit via the PS button?
 
This has happened to me a couple of times. I'm drivin' along, and the cars in front and behind, depending on where I am in the field, stop moving. After that, either I get the disconnected screen or the car magically reappear in front and behind me. I know it is clearly the connection I have.
 
Last night on the HSR I had a car that was in the race and that I had seen before suddenly appear right in front and then ghost so I could go through it. It was inside the tunnel portion - some guy named "Racecleanstupid". Maybe that was a message from above so to speak. :)

I haven't had the fortune of cars raining down on me yet - reminds me of that scene in Twister when the stuff is falling from the sky. Weird stuff indeed!

As in 190mph to 0mph in less than an inch!
