Cars GT7 get wrong

Reading posts online it's clear there are many things PD gets right with a lot of cars, and I'm happy with the overall driving experience. Driving GT7 cars and comparing them to real-world reviews (using mostly Evo, but also others) shows many of the models match up with what reviewers expressed showing there is good attention to detail.

For the most part....

I was surprised how well the French hot hatches differed to each other and ranked similar to contemporary reviews. Some cars in GT7, however, don't seem to match their real world counterparts at all, at least according to other drivers' opinions. The first one I noticed was the Clio V6, which seems a LOT more benign in GT7 compared to IRL reviews. This week I drove the BAC Mono, and after looking at the museum (?) thing in Brand Central and seeing how many lap records it took expected a great driving track car. What it is instead is pretty meh, and doesn't inspire confidence at all leading to some pretty slow times (relatively). It could be my driving style, but something about it feels off like the Clio V6.

Are there any other examples of PD missing the mark by a mile?

Just so I understand, you're comparing the in game simulation to what you imagines after reading an article. Is that correct? Because, you know, imagination versus realization can differ greatly.

Also, they say "never meet your heroes". The original VW GTI is a great example. I've driven the original (a few of them) and they are fun, and the articles of praise are warranted, but it's also low on power, with skinny tires, and a shift linkage that feels like it's made of rubber bands. So, if the in game car feels a little lackluster, know that the real car isn't all that it's legend makes it out to be.

For an overall feel, yes. Obviously you can't experience the nuances unless you drive the real thing.

The French hot hatch trio is a good example. When I drove them back to back (Clio RS, DS3, 208 GTI PS) they felt similar to how they were described - with the 208 coming out on top.

This is a thread more for cars that are really not like what drivers of the real thing experienced.

The phase 1 Clio V6 was notorious for being hard to drive at the limit (https://www.goodwood.com/grr/road/n...ar-ive-ever-driven--thank-frankel-its-friday/), but that isn't the case at all in GT7.

The BAC Mono is fast in real life. Like supercar demolishing fast (https://www.hrowen.co.uk/bac/news/bac-mono-fastest-car-tested-evo/)

And yet in GT7 it's kind of a pig and in custom races not much better than the competition I set up.
