Hi All,

Not sure if this is affecting other people. However recently i have noticed that some of my cars are currently not logging kilometres. This is not happening to all my cars but predominantly from what i have noticed it is cars that haven't registered any kilometres as yet. Is anyone else being affected by this problem and if so have you found a resolution or maybe somebody else out there has an idea as to what is going on. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Cheers and remember to race clean, hard and fast.

Do you race in the arcade mode or the career mode when you have this problem.

Mileage doesn't log, when using cars in arcade mode and online (when tire wear/damage is OFF ) .:)

It is done that way , so you can use/test/enjoy cars in arcade mode/online and not deteriorate engine , chasis ... see GT6 engine, oil ...deterioration guide sticky on forums.

When I do online time trials the cars I use log miles. I wonder if it maybe a glitch in the career mode you got.

This. The answers and rational above us are bizarre. Everything should put mileage on the cars. Arcade, time trial, single player, seasonal, online, etc. Everything. If not, something is not right. I've been nearing rebuilds right before seasonals have started and had to repair the car after exiting the time trial screen. I will go into arcade, single player and online modes with cars in good shape and end the night of playing with rebuilds. Racing in rooms with faster or fastest wear, rather than normal will wear the motor and chassis out quicker. That's why you will see people complain from time to time on here about having to do a rebuild several times in one night on the same car or once a day. It is because they play online so much with accelerated, not "realistic" wear.

I totally agree with you when you take a car in Arcade, time trial, single player, seasonal, online, etc it should log miles on that car. It was the same in GT5 you can practise all day in the arcade mode and you have not done any miles on that car.

In arcade mode, when you are done driving or have finished your race and decide to leave the track, first go into the car settings page before exiting, doing this little extra detour for some reason makes the mileage log on to the car. 👍

That's the weird the weird thing its only some cars while others have no problems. Wondering if this has happened from one of the updates.

Ta for the heads up will have to check this out this afternoon to see if this works.

You sir are a freaking genius, you deserve a pay rise! Great lil work around until a fix is implemented.

Personally, I'm glad miles aren't logged on the cars in Arcade Mode Time Trials (unless you go into Car Settings after driving). It just saves me a little extra wear & tear from going on my cars. Let's say I just want to do one warm up lap before attempting something in career mode (for example, I just re-ran the S-Class 24 Minutes of LeMans and I wanted to make sure my tuning changes were going to still allow an adequate lap time), I save 8+ miles of oil usage.

Of course, if I stay in that Arcade Mode Time Trial session and make tweaks to my tune all those miles WILL end up being added to my car because I have entered Car Settings.

Keep in mind that if you go into STATS from the Main Menu, I believe ALL your miles are logged whether they be from career mode or arcade mode. Also, one thing to look for while you're in an Arcade Mode Time Trial - if your car has a working odometer in cockpit camera view miles seem to be added to that odometer even though they might not be added to what Gran Turismo calls your miles driven in Garage. Check your Lamborghini Aventador odometer, for example.

Okay this is an odd one but bare with me.

Its 2 part.

ASpec, and Test Drive from Garage
These will log mileage and the mileage affects performance.

Arcade mode logs mileage if you enter the settings tab, but not if you don't, HOWEVER these miles do not ever affect performance.

I have cars that have ONLY been driven in Arcade for 1000+ miles and never even needed to get an oil change.

Others driven in ASpec and Test Drive have needed oil changes, chassis refresh, and after a lot of miles an engine rebuild.

The cars driven a bit in both will only need repairs after driving X miles in ASpec & Test Drive, drive all day in arcade the car leaves the same as it went in despite what's on the odometer.

Some time ago I found that mileage wouldn't be logged if didn't save manually before leaving the game. Otherwise, obtained mileage would be gone upon rebooting GT6. I noticed this after testing cars within the Garage > Free Run feature. This bug may have been fixed since then but now I always perform a manual save as the last thing in every sitting.

Thats been fixed a while ago (1.04 around there) I noticed back then exiting free run did not trigger an auto save, I did the same thing as you making sure to do a manual save, same if I adjust a setting from the Garage Settings menu. Exiting free run now triggers an auto save, and has for many versions (updates) but I still manual save if I change a part or setting from the garage menu as that still doesn't trigger the auto save

The bug I refer is in fact a bug with the auto-save itself. In other words, manual save is the only save feature you can fully trust, auto-save or not. That's is the bug I don't know whether is fixed, hence I always save manually.

Edit, I've not manually saved after running laps since 1.04 and don't have to, my game magically doesn't have your glitch, my auto save works fine, no need to double up with a manual save. That's redundant IMO. My system must be special.

My post regarding when mileage build up and when it impacts performance or not is all facts, not opinion.
