Cars on track?

is there any information about how many cars there will be on track? or is just going to be 12 again? 👍

Nobody knows how many cars will be on track. But based on the videos we saw from E3 it appears the maximum number of cars on track is still 16. Whether or not it will be 16 in A-Spec, we'll probably have to wait for the release.

It will probably stay at 16 as usual.

32 would be cool though!

What would be better is around 100 on the Nurburgring and Sarthe endurance races if they're still there.

That would be cool if the average online player on GT wasn't completely oblivious to other cars on the road. 👍

Car in front going too slow? BASH THEM OUT OF THE WAY! :yuck:

Yes even basically having a track day would still end up with idiots spoiling it. I guess 16 will still be the max.

Or have the cars ghosting if a collision is imminent, That would solve the problem , Even 30 or so cars on the Ring would be awesome, Won't happen though sadly.

I think the real limiting factor on this is the memory required to load all the cars. Wherever a car is on the track it is still a fully loaded model and not just an information set crusing around.

If they could find a way around that it would at least solve the limitations in A/Bspec.

Online is even worse on processing/memory requirements. Idk if we'll ever see more than 16 online unless the resolution is dropped significantly.

Then again perhaps the new rendering engine and adaptive tessellation can help with it.

It's probably still going to be at 16, especially with the limitations on the PS3. We will probably see an increase of this number on a PS4 Gran Turismo game.

Well, who knows. Anyway, I'd prefer to have 5 intelligent opponents than 16-24-36 dumb bots that you just have to pass and forget about

We can only hope.

It is likely to remain at 16. One of the Sony representatives said it would be 16 at E3. There's a video taken by a Spanish guy that has been posted on GTP. While I wouldn't say that's officially released info it is semi official.

Until we don't "move" to PS4, the capacity for having such amount of cars on track as 24 or 30 won't be unveiled. Same happens with Battlefield 4's online, whick supports 64 players on PC and PS4, but just 32 on PS3.
