Cars' Prices not THAT expensive

this doesn't include my duplicates. The biggest flaw in the game is the resale value of cars.
 
I just realized that there is only 1 20,000,000cr car that you actually need to buy if you want it. And that is the Ford Mark IV. All the other 20million credit cars you are awarded:

The Alfa Race Car, XJ13, The Ford GT40 race and the painted X2010 are all awarded. So, really, if you get to 20million about three times, you should be able to buy every car in the game. and just win the rest.

Reading how people duplicate cars with birthday cheats etc., I think it's appropriate that you don't get much for selling cars or, as I've read on these forums, that you can't sell a lot of the more expensive cars.

I agree...whilst it's relatively easy to build up say 5 million or so, that's when the grind really seems to set in. I'm looking at that 2J in the online dealership but I have no chance of raising another 7 million or so (I have about 7 million currently) before they change the line up.

That's not a complaint as such, as I will most likely get about 12 very cool premiums instead, but not sure I will ever have the patience to grind for the two Chapparals, the Miura and the P4, all of which I would like a lot. The Ford MkIV would be nice too...

The Seasonal Events have a pretty good pay out but still 1,000s, not 1,000,000s :irked:

There's 2 errors in your post:
1) You also don't win the Ferrari 330. It's sometimes given with a Level-ticket, but it's not certain you get it. (I didn't)
2) Seasonal events do give you millions. The Citroen WRC-event (Seasonal Event Races week 3) ALONE gives you 1,500,000 credits.
 
Easy to make a million dollars with B spec dream car championship, just need to check it every 20 mins or so. I'm not a cloner/duper/birthday glitcher so the cars are worth allot to me I have around 430 cars at the moment and last night got AMG CLK GTR racecar for $3.56 million which was allot for me to spend but I'm very happy with it and seems rare as I've never seen it in my ucd and played everyday since release.

I am pretty sure that I read somewhere that the GT5 currency (cr.) prices are based similarly on the Japanese Yen, so it can't be compared to U.S. Dollar values or Euros.

That doesn't really explain anything for 8/10s of the cars in the game, where the prices are (usually) far more egregious in their innaccuracy.
