Cars Seem To Be Disappearing or Changing to Other Models After 1.06 Update

Are you sure you didn't accidentally choose to not install them right away? In that case, they would show up in the "items menu" to the left of the garage button in the main GT Life menu. It took me a while to find those lost parts :ouch:

In my case, nope, they were added immediately. There are no "spares" in the item menu.

I've had mods disappear several times since the upgrade.

Totally unrelated to the thread topic really, but your problem is because adding parts and then leaving the tuning shop doesn't force an auto-save, unlike everything else you do to cars. The solution is to save manually after adding parts if you're planning to quit immediately.

On the bright side, while you 'lost' the parts you'd have been reimbursed for their cost.

My Maserati that I've won from somewhere in the game is gone. I'm sure there are others too but I don't keep track of them on Mygranturismo like everyone else so it's hard to know. This is unacceptable!

Well, I double checked, and yes, got 5 cars gone! Just rubbish cars but I really pissed because I put so much effort in collecting every car in the game.

And just as others said, 5 were gone and other 5 were duped! So that made it really hard to notice, because my car number was the same!!

I just bought those 5 again and deleted the duped ones, I can't believe this, I was so happy with the update, so excited about it, I even started a thread to acknowledge PD for all this effort, and bam...

I know nobody is perfect, but this is annoying as hell.

I believe this happened when they fixed the save file size glitch. This makes sense, maybe my file had some museum cards and were somehow attached to the garage in the code itself as some protection. The other guys that had a completely screwed filed said that their garage was empty but everything else was exactly the same after the fix.

Please PD, after this issue give us a log screen/option or something where we can check which cars in total we are missing in the game, since the blue ticks just won't do now.

Urgh... Has anyone had a rare car disappear? Or just Miatas and Supras and junk like that?

I have had 4 separate white x1's disappear. Very frustrating. Especially when I agree to trade it to some and it's not there to trade!!

I tried to find a more relevant/related thread, but none exist that I can find, and I don't care to start a new one.

The most bizarre thing was it just began occuring this week. Again, as I said in my original post, I do this regularly, and have never had them "disappear" up until several days ago.

OK. More weird news. It seems 1 of my white X1's did not disappear. The thumbnail had changed from a white X1 to a blue X1 which was causing my confusion/panic/anger. 'create thumbnail' and all is back to normal now. Very relieved I didn't lose it!

I've had mods disappear several times since the upgrade.

I like to prepare my car for the next race, then log off. Two times (different cars) I had done a lot of tuning, including buying Racing Soft tires. Logged off normally (Out of GT Life to Main Menu, then PS button to turn off the PS3).

When I went into Seasonal Events next log on, both times there was no option for Racing Soft tires in the prep menu. Went in both times to find that all my extras were no longer on the car, and had simply ceased to exist. I have no idea if my Credits were returned.

Anyone else have this problem?

Every time I modify the premium sedan civic type r with exhausts and upgrades it defaults back to normal specification. This has happened twice. Body kits though don't disappear.

yes. not sure what to do about it though....

Another thread says this may be due to the fact that different colors show up in the UCD for cars now, and if you don't own the car in the color shown in the UCD, it doesn't tick "owned."

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRReealy! That's is really poor.

Did you manually save the game before you left. I have done this before. Do a bunch of mods then just exit, loosing them (but still have the old amount of money). I always manually save before exiting because I don't trust the Auto Save. It seem to save at weird times.

Oh, also I cross referenced my garage against the mygranturismo.net list. I had one car that was "missing": My primera 20V '01 became a primera 20v (EU) '01, which I already had... so it became a duplicate.

In all honesty, I'm convinced it was entered into mygranturismo incorrectly and people are just imagining this problem. Dupers probably copied over the wrong save game and lost a few cars :ouch:

No, it's not just imagination. After receiving the Ferrari F2007 via Lvl 24 gift ticket, I spend 10 million credits on the F2010 to have them both. I had them for a while and compared lap times and stuff.

And then, at some point, the F2010 was just gone. I always manually save, and did not mess with the file.

I have started this thread before and also seen a few others like it. And others report the same thing when I talk to them or post these threads. I am posting now because I have no way to get the cars that change that are expensive and are standard then saving money and watching the Used Lot. I bought EVERY single standard car. I have had cars showing up as unbought, mostly Mazdas and other Japanese cheap cars even though I had bought them and noted it on mygranturismo.net. Now, the Honda Prototype NSX LM RACE Car I got is MISSING. You can see that I got it through a trade with DannyJigg on 1/17 here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=167883#post4647607. Now, its gone! What I see is that the total number of cars doesn't change in my garage, but I have duplicates I never had before. I don't know if PD knows about this issue, but this cap on cars makes it WORSE. Check your inventories for duplicates you know you didn't buy, its most likely a car in your inventory has changed. :grumpy:

I don't understand why you think you can post a new topic about this when you know there is other topics just like it made before you. Fail...

Sue me. And I hope your favorite standard car on the banned list shows up missing the next time you want to use it. Then you may understand WTF I am coming from. And I didn't post it in this forum.

Chill it guys.

I'll merge the two threads and move it to the main section.

So I read where the issues is that the car is still there, but the thumbnail changes to another car. I have over 800 standard cars. I tried searching through all the duplicates, since I have all the cars, but can't find the car I am missing.

refreshing the thumbnail isnt the problem. as i have stated in two other threads mentioning the exact same problem; i lost my peach-colored FGT after the update. sad thing is i had not duped it  . i should have!!!

Over the last few weeks I have been collecting my final 250+ cars, only 2 to go and I started before the 'tick system' was implemented.

I have had absolutely no problems at all, cars that I have (irrespective of colour) have been correctly marked as owned and I have never bought a duplicate by mistake. I have also not noticed any thumbnail problems. During this time I have been playing on & offline, remote racing, loaning cars out and gifting a few paints ie playing the game normally.

The easiest mistake to make (as has already been pointed out) is human data entry errors with mygranturismo.net.

I just wanted to balance out that there is not a global problem, and if a problem does exist then it is only selected people in a specific set of circumstances that I have not come across.

It could be that you have ticked the wrong car models on mygranturismo.net.
It's easy to do this with some cars having very similar names, like the skylines and the MX-5s.

That sucks, but if you can get your hands on a Level 24 Ticket, you can dupe those still (even though all the cars it is possible to get with that ticket are worth well over $1M, I guess it was overlooked by PD). With enough backing up save, checking prize, restoring save, repeating, you'll eventually get your peach-coloured FGT back (with zero miles to boot!).
