Cars suddenly lose all gravity when they break..... is that a new 'feature' ?

Hey folks,

It's been a while since I was here but GT6 is out so I got my PS3 from under the scrap heap, updated it and installed GT6 plus all the updates.

One of the things that I notice is that cars seem to suffer from lack of gravity.
Enemy Opponent cars that drive over a small bump and then break (like on Matterhorn track) get off the ground a meter or so. But only the rear end of the car.

I'm now driving on Monaco in the National A, Festival Italia, and there are are cars that break at the end of the short straight and their rear wheels come off the ground.
Thats on flat surface.

Also, cars like the Xbow and Cizetta are completely undriveable at high speed corners.
Example is the Curva Grande, doing 220 km/h in the Cizetta.
No big problem there, but the rear of that car gets lighter and lighter.. then it seems to start floating and the car spins out . Impossible to 'hold' the car.
Adding a spoiler doesn't really do much good.

I was wondering.
Is this how GT6 is going to be?
Braking hard, rear end comes off the ground and thats it?

Was hoping to make a lunar driving missions joke.

That's what happens with soft suspension. You won't notice it in real life unless you're on a track travelling and braking from top speed. I've even noticed it in an M3 CSL on it's comfort setting irl, and I couldn't believe it.

It happends to loads and loads of NPC cars in single player.
It looks rediculous.....
I'm kind of hoping this is some sort of bug on my PS3 but I'm truly afraid this is how the game is supposed to be.
Can anyone confirm my PS3 is bugged and the opponents on your PS3's do not start to 'float' int he rear when they break very hard?

It's not your PS3... its the game... a NEW edition t'boot... This'll be part of the NEW physics engine PD have created..:banghead:

Why not take a picture of one of these flying cars?

I seen a similar problem with the alfa romeo gta 1600 '65 with sport softs and hard suspension it likes to do barrel rolls mid corner, as if it was a top heavy suv.

Same thing happened to me tonight on Festival Italia. I was behind an Alpha that went to brake and rear wheels were completely off the ground. I thought it was a one time fluke and I could blow someone's mind on GTPlanet... apparently not.

I have that problem with my Subaru. I barely touch a curb and suddenly I'm on 2 wheels at a 60 degree angle to the track.

Realism? Ffss

Which subaru is it? Try using a softer suspension setup it helped me a bit

The S206 Nurburgring edition. I just have stock suspension on it.

It's really hard not to attack the curbs cause that car was meant to be thrown around. It's always so composed even in a 4-wheel slide.

I drove the punto abarth in the Italia races and second to last corner in Rome it scared the 🤬 out of me as I thought I would roll over.
I've heard of soft suspension but this seems a bit too much.

It seems to be related to how PD have coded the suspension. I have noticed that a lot of the cars have excessive side to side rolling on stock suspension and, sometimes, it is just downright stupid. The other day I was racing on Deep Forest and, entering the corner after the first short tunnel doing about 20mph or so, I clipped the curb and it flipped the car into the air and did a 360 roll! My Mitsu Evo which I'm using a lot has ridiculous amounts of body roll with stock suspension. Adding racing firm suspension on some cars does improve at times (did the Italian only make races in National A using Lancia Stratos Anniversary edition car, and it lolls all over the track and very hard to control on cornering but, after adding the racing firm suspension, it almost stops the side to side rolling and is easy to control on cornering). PD may have improved the general car physics but, in the process, they have completely messed up the suspension
