I don't know if inter-brand models are considered, but I know my '93 VW Fox was a pretty good mish-mash of parts from various VW/Audi models.
The VW Fox, or at least the American version, was largely based on designs of the MKI Golf and Jetta, but re-adapted in the early '80s for the newer models. The Fox had its own suspension, but the engine came out of the MKII Golf and Jetta (the same 1.8L 8V unit, a bit dummed down), and the transmission came out of the B1 and B2 Dasher/Quantum (later Passat) and Audi Fox/4000. The funky thing was that the engine was designed to sit longitudinal, as oposed to the regular horizontal setups in the other models.
...I still miss that car, and I'm still hoping VW eventually decides to bring the Fox back to America...
