SImple, what cars did you use for endurance races (A-spec only)?

I'll start:

Grand Valley 300km: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG (stock, sport softs)
Roadster 4h: Mazda Roadster RS (fully tuned, hate Tsukuba)
200mi Laguna Seca: Ford GT (stock, racing softs)
Indy 500: Formula Gran Turismo
Suzuka 1000: Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo (downtuned to -20pp off the strongest opponent, racing softs)
Nürburgring 4h: Lexus IS F Racing Concept (downtuned to -20pp off the strongest opponent, racing softs)
Tsukuba 9h (haven't done it yet): McLaren F1 (F1 LM specs, racing hards)
24h of Le Mans (haven't done it yet): Peugeot 908 or Toyota GT-One
24h of Nürburgring (haven't done it yet): TBD (Group C)

Indy 500: Toyota Minolta 88C-V (Stock, racing medium)
Suzuka 1000: Nissan Motul Autech GTR (stock, racing hard/medium)
Nürburgring 4h: Mercedes SLS AMG (Stage 2 weight reduction, racing hard)
Tsukuba 9h (haven't done it yet): I'm thinking the older '96 Elise RM, not sure yet
24h of Le Mans: Toyota GT-One (Stock, racing medium)
24h of Nürburgring (haven't done it yet): Pagani Zonda R
 
I used the Amuse Nismo 380 Superleggera for the Laguna Seca 200 totally stock and it was a pretty competitive match up. I only won by less than a full lap and had a few scares but it was well worth the experience spanking up some American cars. Unfortunately this is the only a-spec enduro I have done.

Most of them complete overkills but if I'm going to be driving for 9 to 24 hours I won't take the chance of losing it.

Grand Valley 300km: NSX Type R '02, don't remember what settings. Way too easy. Got bored.
Roadster 4h: Not gonna happen.
200mi Laguna Seca: Mercury Cougar '67, don't remember what settings. Good race.
Indy 500: ZR-1 RM, don't remember what settings. Too easy.
Suzuka 1000: ARTA NSX '06, 580PP race hards. I didn't enjoy it. Especially the rain.
Nürburgring 4h: GSXR/4 2 times, lowest PP 499, Lotus 111R 1 time, 510PP. This race is the best race in GT5.
Tsukuba 9h: Again, not gonna happen. Tsukuba again? WHY!? I dream of this race on Daytona Road. *sigh*
24h of Le Mans: Not done yet. Probably won't.
24h of Nürburgring: Not done yet. Probably won't.

I have read your GSXR/4 story. Good job.
And I used Mercury Cougar too for Laguna Seca, but in GT2. Brings back memories.

I wouldn't advise that to you, you would have to drive at about 95% of your capabilities throughout the entire race, all 24 hours of it.
And also, have in mind that Zonda R is a tyre killer.



That's some really nice variety of cars!
 
Grand Valley 300: 2010 Camaro SS detuned to 300hp, +100kg ballast. Otherwise stock. Sports hard. Good fun.

Nürburgring 4 hours: 2010 Camaro SS w/ aero, some lightening & upgrades. 565PP. Race Hards. A little too fast, at least for the R8 LMS, no GT1 Turbo showed up but don't think it would have made a difference if I hadn't run out of gas.

The Others: Someday.
 
Grand Valley 300km: I tried to use the Mitsubishi HSR-II Concept, but that told me to never ever use a 4WD car for any endurance race. I ended up re-doing the entire race and winning using the Gran Turismo 350z RS.

Roadster 4h: Fully Tuned Mazda Roadster RS. Even with that, I still had a hard time trying to win the race.

200mi Laguna Seca: Stock Chevy Corvette Z06. I may have used grippier tires.

Indy 500: Minolta Toyota.

Suzuka 1000: Calsonic GT-R Super GT.

Nürburgring 4h: Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II.

Tsukuba 9h: Plan to complete this race using either the Ford GT Test car or the Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo. Any preference on what I should choose?

24h of Le Mans: Will do using the Nissan R92CP.

24h of Nürburgring: Will do using the Mazda 787B.

200mi Laguna Seca: Jaguar XJ13 - Stock (Because I'd just won it lol): Racing Hard
Indy 500: First time: Toyota 88C/V - Stock: Racing Soft, Subsequently: RB X2010 does it in about 2h15, good for Exp.
Suzuka 1000: Toyota Castrol Supra JGTC - Stock: Racing Hard
Nürburgring 4h: BMW 120d - Fully tuned (Just because): Racing Soft
Tsukuba 9h: Nissan GTR - Fully tuned: Racing Soft
24h of Le Mans: First time: RB X2010 (competed 400 laps by 18h, slept last 6, still won): Racing Soft, Second time: Peugeot 908 HDi - Stock (only 382 laps, cursed rain): Racing Soft
24h of Nürburgring: Not completed yet, will run it this coming weekend: Choices are; Corvette ZR-1 RM - Fully tuned (Stock supercharger), Pagani Zonda R - Stock, Ford GT LM Spec II (Test) - Stock or Audi R10 TDI - Stock (The game seems to insist that one be in the race every time along with a Peugeot 905 of all things)

If anyone has any good suggestions for 24h Nürburgring please let me know; I'm currently leaning towards the Corvette since it will comfortably do a sub 8m lap, which I imagine will be the pace of the two AI LMPs, and leans towards understeer so should be easier to drive and kinder to it's tyres when tiredness sets in.

And when that's done I'll only have the 550 other cars to get and I'll be finished! Simple right?

Its the plan for now at least. I should get to level 40 hopefully within this week so I can test properly. Pace looks good, haven't tested tyre life yet:scared:

Edit: Just tested on the type-v track, could only get 3 laps from a set of tyres:( Might just de-tune the GT-One to a more realistic amount of power (~600bhp).

Grand Valley 300km: Slightly modded Impreza WRX STi '10, Sports Hard (Didn't knew back then Hards lasted as much as softs). Tuned to Advanced rally specs.
Roadster 4h: Like said before by someone, not gonna happen. I hate the track. And 4 hours will just be a two hundred laps bore-fest.

Indy 500: Stupid race, stupid measures: X2010 driven with joystick while watching TV.

Nürburgring 4h: RM'ed EVO IX with Racing Soft tyres. Around 400HP. Looking forward to repeat this incredible race. It's a shame it has no day/night transition.
Tsukuba 9h: Again, as said by someone, not gonna ever happen. A thousand lap bore-fest on a short and dull boring little track with no day/night transition. Never ever ever.
24h of Le Mans: Haven't done it. Probably never will.
24h of Nürburgring: Haven't done it. Probably never will. Less so with PDs stupid car list choice for the track...idiots...

Only done two for some reason. Well, one and a half. Both attempts were Laguna Seca.

Attempt One: BIG BIG LEAD in the Tesla Roadster, stock. Well...big lead until I went to change tires and realized. Hey wait...the battery doesn't recharge. Tip: Don't use the Tesla on endurance races!

Attempt Two: Camaro SS '10

Laguna Seca: Amuse s2000 gt1 turbo because 🤬 yes s2000's! :dopey:


4h Nur: Not done yet, but going to do it monday or tuesday depending on how much time i spend on dirt3, will be done in a spoon CR-Z, HYBRID POEWR!

Roadster 4h: Mazda Roadster RS, fully tuned; it was so boring, that I was smashing into people just for fun :dopey:
200mi Laguna Seca: FGT
Indy 500: FGT
Suzuka 1000: X2010 (to get practice on this track to do that special event; two birds, one stone)
Nürburgring 4h: Fully tuned Nissan GT-R '07, RH
Tsukuba 9h: X2010, see Roadster 4h; maybe it's the track :dopey:

I'd love to get those two 24-hour races done before college starts up again. I have no problem doing these races on my own; I just need to figure out how to divvy up 24 hours (I'm also taking a class now), and just what to use for the Ring.
 
Ended up doing Nürburgring in a 787B. Was a nice and easy car to drive, and nice and quick compared to the competition too

I've only done the Grand Valley 300km but I did it in the Nissan GT-R, it was unstoppable amongst the others.
 
It felt like I was almost cheating using a completely stock Mercedes C63 AMG for Laguna Seca, but I don't feel bad after seeing what some others used. With no tuning I had a few laps on the competition at the end.
