Caterham Fireblade - whats the point?

It is a great car, and thanks to this thread I understand why it can't be driven in a race. But it would have been a helpful gesture if the car's "special" status was pointed out within the game prior to purchase. The 60k credits I forked out were laboriously earned on the beginner's circuit, before I learned about easy money from B specing the Opel Astra around the Nurbugring.

There's a few things GT4 should do to remove the frustration factors built into the game, and this is one.

^i found it easier to use the TT in the DTM for easy money :D :D

and i havent bought the caterham yet, but im glad i read this :D

Used all the 100,000cr from GT3 and bought the Caterham having always hankered after one in real life. Naturally gutted when I couldn't use it! Played on for a few days, completed 3 of the licenses and experienced a corrupt save file :ouch: Needless to say I didn't buy the Caterham as my first car second time around. I will get it when cash is less important just because of what it is.

Incidentally, the best easy money race is the El Captain endurance where you get 250,000cr prize and the Minolta worth 743,749cr for just 66 laps. You can leave your B-spec guy to do it and it'll only take just under an hour. 👍

Just waiting for the black cars to turn up in the car lot :)

I bought this car to find that i couldnt race it either, pretty annoying.

However, i used to play Sega GT Rally on the xbox, and this same car was in it, the car was pretty unbeatable on the 1/4 mile drags, a doesnt have a top end speed, but can get fast very quickly, ideal for drags.

If you notice about the Caterham it doesnt have much BHP to start with, i spent thousands upgrading this bad boy thinking i could race, it had bout 200 odd bhp. If you look at its torque, its over 10,000 !!!!!! which is huge!!

If you have one of these cars, check it out on the 1/4 mile, see what your time is ?

Kev.

I'm glad they included it. If it can't be raced, I would rather be able to drive it than not.
I have been a passenger for 3 laps round donnington in a cheap version of this (MK) and loved every second of it.
For bike engined fun why not try the Suziki concept race prize car?

What I don't understand is, why didn't PD simply include the classic Caterham Seven so that we could use it in races. Since this car can have a convertible roof (as shown below) we wouldn't see all the driver movements and would have plently of spare polygons. On a time trial we could have had the roof down. :indiff:

Here's another thumb's up for the Caterham. It should accelerate a little faster but other than that it's a kick in the bum to drive. Do some laps with one, it's fun.

You guys do like to drive, right?

eh? I've raced the car in arcade mode. :dopey:

The closest races GT4 has offered me, the Spyker has the advantage on the straight but you have the advantage in the corners. Makes for some nice tight races. 👍

Group C Fanatic
polygon count is high because you can see the driver working the controls,
You can see it in the Suzuki GSX-R/4 too, but that didn't stop it from being raceable.

Caterham Fireblade - whats the point?
The point of this car is make as much understeering as posible and it won't you drive it anywhere else then free run, arcade mode....etc. :dunce:
Bought this car last night and I hate it from the beginning when I took a curve.

all it needs is getting used to. around corneres pah, it seriously will blow most cars away, and wiil even stick up to race cars, that car thrives on corners.
