Finally have a Caterham for all 3 accounts. Stayed up way too late last night tuning and racing. Just made my top 5 faves. Can't wait for the psuedo-cockpit view. Anyone beat 7:45 on the Ring with it?

In other news, a moment of silence for Al Davis. The NFL has lost a pioneer.

Wonderful car indeed! I managed a 7:48 on the Ring... in Sport Softs. :sly: What tires were you using?

Wow, SS, nice. I used RH, but only sport suspension. With a little toe, I think I can do better. The MR set up makes it a bit squirly off-camber, but still a lovely car.

Took me forever just to set it up correctly, then I sold it by accident. :( The thing is certainly a beast around the Ring, it just needs that top speed higher. :)

Currently I have one in my other account, I'm, going to trade it back over just to throw it around the track again. I hope I improve!

Did an arcade race with it yesterday at the Top Gear Test track with RH tires, stock besides for a supercharger.

Expected to be placed against other Ceterhams, but ended up against some GT Concepts; was surprised that I was able to keep up with them; shocked that I was able to beat them by several seconds per lap.

Its amazing though corners.

As soon as Spec II is installed and ready to go, I'll give my beloved Caterham a nice setup treatment and tame the beast - Nurburgring that is.

Oh yeah! I forgot about the nice cockpit it'll get for Spec II! That will definitely make me want to drive around for hours. It's better then using the hood view, that's for sure.

It is a great car for Top Gear Test Track as well. Even down-tuning for the British Lightweights Seasonal (appr 76% HP) it was still a champ.

It's to fast for the cars of it's HP range but slower then the cars for it's PP range. Quite a hard car to compete with. Either alone, or with others!

The caterham is awesome especially with this tune
It gives a late 60's style f1 handling. With that tiny amount of slide

Yes, it most certainly will. The cockpit view seems just right and you've also got a nice sight of the road. Can't wait!

I want to say it so badly... you think some of these cars such as the Caterham, will be premiumized? But judging by the screenshot, I'll assume no considering your in-game gauges are there probably meaning that the gauges already in the car don't work. :grumpy: TURN OFF ALL THE INSTRUMENTS! That's what I do sometimes when driving open-cockpit cars. :sly:

I too think this is the best we will get regarding open wheelers in GT5. Sadly. But on the other hand, it's still way better than nothing at all.

Caterham is 1 of the top 10 cars in the game for me and the cockpit view is going to make even better

The 'blade is one of the few cars I drive with hood view (usually with all displays off), it looks amazing in Reflex Spice. It is by far my favorite car. I'm constantly tweaking the tune.

I have one but never drove it because I heard it was horrible. But I guess I need to drive it myself...

Actually, if you tighten it up, you can get on 2 wheels a lot at London. It feels nice tight, but tracks with high curbs can hurt you with it, since it takes such a low posture, combined with its small turning radius under accel.

Yeah, beware those curbs. They eat Caterhams for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

:scared:

I don't really like it...compared to real life the Caterham in this game is a total pansy. Caterhams should be wild rippers of tracks with super speedy cornering. This doesn't do that. Plus it is really unfortunate with the PP system, its PP is far too high to compensate in other races.

This car is a beast with racing soft tires.

:trouble:

Hey I have like about ten or so of them. I can let you have one if you would like.💡

Tune it and it is.
We need more caterham's though. Like r500,csr, and classic

No I'm fine, thanks for the offer. :) Though... after thinking about it... I may not have one in my alternate account. I'll have to check! :scared:

The only one I have is tuned, but I absolutely love it!

Slow acceleration, but flies through the corners like none other.

The Caterham in GT5 has too much engine inertia. It revs too slowly. Since they're improving its cockpit in Spec 2.0, I hope they will give it a proper bike engine feel (as you can hear when you select the car in your garage) as well.

I hope that too, those kind of things were definitely off.

Turning off ABS is also a blast. I suggest Top Gear Test Track without ABS of course. :)
