Caution: Do not use BACK UP DATA AFTER UPDATE

This has happened twice already. Since the last 2 updates, I have been getting prompted to use "back-up data". I obviously think its required as part of the update, so i click yes. And WHAM, like a sack of potatoes to the crown jewels, i see it auto save over my most recent file. This has cost me around 10 hours of work, tunes, and money.

Is there something going wrong with the save function on GT6? Ive never had any issues before when saving. I have been stuck in December 8th 2013 for 2 days now after updating. Why are my last saves going missing after these updates. I'm pretty pissed right now. What a waste of time.

Is anybody else falling for this lameness?
 
No, no hacking. It just prompted me to update, after the install it then gave me a window asking to use back up data. So I'm thinking if I don't use the back up data I'm going to start with an empty garage, so of course I agree to use it. It's a lose lose situation. I'm just baffled as to why this is occurring after these last two updates.

I did notice on the last update, that the was a disclaimer stating that save data was not guaranteed. I promptly exited and saved a copy to usb before going through with the update. My apologies for the unnecessary aspersion. 👍
 
Thanks for your help guys. No issues since the last update. Ill see how it goes tonight when i update to the news ticker.
 
Happened to me as well! Extremely annoyed! All my cars are gone and my game progress seemingly wiped! Over 40 hours worth!
