What's will all the bouncing off the rev-limiter ?.. Does that help make you go faster ?..

ID 10 T error :-|

What's with the damn ad at the start?

Yeah, he didn't know how to drive that thing. Probably said "I'm gonna drive it just like in Gran Turismo!"

and we know how inaccurate THOSE physics are.

To top it off, he's challenged a professional rally-driver, Henning Solberg, to a race. The bet is on 100 000 US dollars, which Henning calmly said would be the easiest money he's ever earned.

It's going to be a street race. Obviously, Henning only accepted on the terms that the roads were closed and safety precautions were taken.

So - The good man Solberg, in a 300Bhp Impreza, will beat Mr. Idiot in his 800Bhp CCX... Man I hope they get that on tape - It'll be the laugh to end all laughs...

They'd have to get that on film, that'd be a great watch, just to see how much this guy get's thrashed.

Correction, it's his brother, in a two year old, 350hp+, 800Nm+, 4wd, Peugeot.
Oh, and the bet is documented here.

Sharif: If we say, Skjedsmokorset, from my new shop, up to the airport. 100 000 dollars in the pot. You've got a better name and reputation than me, maybe you could help me getting the road closed, so we can get to race?
Solberg: Yeah, I could probably help with that.
Sharif: That's a deal, then we'll try to get it done before the winter.

Journalist: You did not hear that wrong! When the tyre-king, Sharif, met the rally-driver Henning Solberg in our offices, he just as well put 100 000 dollars in the pot, for a bet Solberg never had dreamt of being challenged in! We're going to rewind, to see what happened just before, because after Solberg and Sharif had greeted each other, did big-brother Solberg ask to see the footage of Sharif crashing his Koenigsegg.

VG Nett, showed the clip, and this is how it ended. [clip from Sharif crashing his outrageously expensive sports-car]

Henning: Oi, oi, oi!

Sharif: You still think that you can drive faster than me?
Solberg: Yes, I still don't think that's going to be a problem!
Sharif: You don't?
Solberg: No.

Sharif: What if I challenged you to a race? Would you go for it? On the road?
Solberg: On the road!? Are you mad!? [laughing] On the road? No. Never, gotta drive responsibly on the road. You too.
Sharif: Yeah, but I can't drive on a track. Then it'll have to be on the road.
Solberg: Nope. No. Not on the road.
Sharif: You won't accept the challenge?
Solberg: No. You're mad. Well, if you find a road, and can get the police to close it for us, then I'll race from

you.
Sharif: Oh, yeah. Offcourse, we'll apply to get a road closed for it.
Solberg: Yeah, then I'll go for it. You're thinking of same cars, or...
Sharif: I'll challenge you whatever you choose to race, if it's a [Opel] Caddy or whatever...
Solberg. Yea, yea yea, that's OK.
Sharif: It's OK?
Solberg: Yes, it's OK.
Sharif: It's a deal then, we'll apply to have the road closed.
(some mumble I didn't catch)

Solberg: That's the rawest challenge someone's ever dared to challenge me in, that anyone in Norway ever has accepted! So it's a deal.
Sharif: It's a deal?
Solberg: Yes.
Sharif: So, what's the prize going to be?
Solberg: Yeah, well, you keep giving away 100 000 dollars to charity and stuff, so it's allright if it's a one-way transfer on it.
Sharif: Ey, ey, ey, calm down.
Solberg: It's something similar to a decent sponsor-deal, so yeah, it's good.
Sharif: Any suggestions to where we're going to race, obviously as long as the government agrees?
Solberg: Yeah, we'll need a road. Do you want asphalt, gravel or, what would you like?
Sharif: Needs to be asphalt.
Solberg: Hmm, ok.
Sharif: Any suggestions?
Solberg: Hmm, I'm not so good with asphalt roads in Norway (implying he doesn't know a bit of road suitable

for racing)
Sharif: I've heard you're not so good on ashphalt, so I would really like asphalt.

Journalist: He's a bit edgy now, isn't he, Henning?
Solberg: Well, what he doesn't know is that I put down, on clean asphalt, first time out in Monaco, a third-best time on a stage. So, he'll be busy practicing.
Journalist: Tommy [Sharif], how is it being an owner of a Koenigsegg, do you think it's up to the job.
Sharif: Well, it is undescribable. It is fun, absolutely fun, to see him slightly jealeous, even if he won't admit it. That alone is fun in itself, I have to admit. So, yeah, it's fun.

Journalist: You've gotten some attention after the purchase, especially your test-drive. What do you have to say to that.
Sharif: Well, there's a reason behind everything I do, so, it is fun peole got to know I tried the car at Rudskogen (a race track), pity I lost control, but the car was undamaged, which was the most important factor. People won't notice one immigrant less, but the car, yeah.

Journalist: Henning, 806 horsepowers, you have an understanding of power, and you know that it's fast.
Solberg: Indeed, it is indeed very fast, and you can see that he needs some time behind the wheel. If he takes a couple of days off and practice, he might be able to set a few good times - which I think he should, so this bet won't end real bad.

Journalist: When you've gotten a few first-place finishes in the WRC, are you going to buy yourself a Koenigsegg.
Solberg: No, I don't think so. I'm not interested in that type of cars. I've tried a few cars of that kind, and yes, they are fast, but they're nowhere near the level of speed I reach in the rally cars I drive.
Sharif: How many horses in your car?
Solberg: About 350, but it has 800Nm...
Sharif: Come again, I had 806, you had...?
Solberg: Yes, 350. But, but...
Sharif: My car weighs 1150kgs, your car weighs...?
Solberg: 1200kgs.
Sharif: I weigh 79kg, you weigh...?
Solberg: 84kg.
Sharif: So on paper, I've already won! But obviously, the driver's have something to say, and he is an excellent driver, and I'm not on his level. You'll see that in the clip, where I went of the track. But now I'll need some help from you...

Solberg: He IS mad, so it's allright!
There you go! Enjoy!

He'll lose that wager. He drives like me trying to drift in GT4 with the D-pad of my DS2.

And I was referring to Henning as "Good man Solberg".. I don't think I claimed anywhere it was Peter...

So I was wrong about the car, and that was just a mock up...

Deet blir gøy..

I hope Freddie returns with a translation soon - Well worth it :-)

I got the race results:

1st place : Puegot

2nd place : s s ig

( If you don't get it the CCX is in PIECES )

Oh, sorry. Thought you meant Petter.

Henning drives an '05 307CC WRC.

Edit: Translation is up!

Just a small update; the race won't happen.

Koenigsegg were themselves fed up with Sharif giving their car negative press and have therefore decided to return Sharif's money. And no car, no race.

Nice to see a company care about the cars they sell for once.

The guy probably knew he couldn't handle the car through the corners where this rally driver would be a pro at, and though 806Hp on a straight-road could give him the advantage.

what i mean is what the difference would be on the road than instead of say a runway or a straight on a track

I'll translate it tonight - I've got to study for my partial-exam next week, and have to work on that while I'm awake.

Edit; no translation tonight - I just got assigned some serious, last-minute homework, and the translation just have to wait. Sorry guys.

It is serously difficult to control 800bhp IRL and especilly when onle the rear wheels put down the power, you must be out of you're mind to try to race such a thing if you're not a pro.
I hate to see those expencive cars in pieces, they buy --> they crash it withing months :( and the CCX is one hell of a car, I rather have the CCX then a Ferrari or Lambo.

he does not desereve to have so much money, he will kill himself if he doesn't watch out.

someone better deserves to have the CCX

Well, at least the car wasn't hurt. This time.

The owner proudly declined the recommended driver education from the Koenigsegg factory.

This is why you never let your ego get ahead of yourself. You'll just get emabarrased. And mocked.

What the hell does Sharif do, anyway? What's his business?

I could've taken a go-kart around that track faster and cleaner than he was running it.

Same car, different owner.

The same car that Norwegian moron Tommy Sharif was more or less forced to sell back to Koenigsegg because of what the factory regarded as bad publicity has now been more or less destroyed by the cars new owner. Sharif actually newer did any damage to the car in his time of ownership, it was just a case of one man with to much cash and the driving skills just covering his tyre business Volkswagen Polo Carrier van.

What you may wonder is why Koenigsegg forced one buyer to sell the car back to the factory because he went of a race track without damaging the car, then to sell it to Stefan Bengtsson (34), one of the airs to H&M (Hennes & Maurits) clothes giants. As with Sharif he didn’t have time to attend the driving course that came with the car.

And then there was one CCX less, Stefan Bengtsson more or less totalled the car after one overtaking gone very badly wrong. Overtaking a car with to short a distance to oncoming traffic he floored it and lost the car crashing the car with the oncoming garbage disposal van.

And that is probably where this car belongs, not in the front but in the back.
