Has anyone got a handsfree kit for their V3? Mine didnt come with any headphones. Do they sound any good because I need some to listen to some music with because my MP3 players broke.

That's a good point, this phone doesn't come with an ear bud and you can't get one for it. You HAVE to go bluetooth to have a headset.

Personally, I love my bluetooth headset and think it's well worth it. But you should know up front that will be a necessity.

As for battery life, don't even go there. After about 4 months you'll find that it suddenly won't hold a charge for more than a day and the battery meter starts lying to you.

My friend has one with exactly the same problem. He has to charge it at every chance he gets because it drains so fast. Admittedly he uses his phone a lot, but it wouldn't last a day even if he didn't. Anywhere he comes with me he brings his phone car charger in my car because it'll run out in a couple of hours if he sends a few texts or makes a call or two.

+1 IMO, pony up for the bluetooth devices.

My RAZR V3 paired right up to the Z4 via Bluetooth. Hands free calling through a built in mic on the steering column and the audio comes through the car's speakers. Best bluetooth peripheral device eVAR :D

Wow, that really is bad. I'm surprised he hasn't got rid of it by now. Then again I get rid of phones every time it rains, so I can't judge.

How long has he had his phone? These batteries tend not to last very long.

I think it's with the phones themselves. A new, larger battery had no effect on mine, and a replacement battery for my friend's V3 didn't help either.

Damn you and your awesome car! I wonder if they offer that on Merivas...

Not to revive an old thread, but I figured my input was necessary...

For the last four or so months I've been using the RAZR V3m (RED) from Sprint. Overall, I'd have to rate the phone rather well, as it has yet to give me any extensive issues or worries. Considering that I was able to pick the phone up for $30 (with a two-year plan, I switched from NEXTEL to Sprint), and that it came with earbud headphones that also work as a hands-free setup, and a 64 MB MicroSD card (not to mention the 40 MB internal memory)... It wasn't a bad deal after all.

Sound quality is excelent on voice calls, much better than my previous Motorola product, the i730. Music playback is rather easy, sounds great, and I use the MP3 feature frequently at school, at work, and at home... Just to keep me entertained. Although, I would have to criticize Sprint's MP3 service, but thats for another thread... Furthermore, sound and video quality is excelent on the SprintTV service (I can watch live television on my phone), although the importance of the feature largely is one of personal preference. I've also found the 1.3MP camera to be rather easy to use, with single-button access and use the phone becomes rather handy in the "What did You See Today" thread.

The largest issue I have with the RAZR is more or less the fact that everyone has one, and every single one is different. I've got friends who have their RAZRs on Cingular/AT&T, Alltell, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc and every single interface, button layout, and overall experience is completely different. My cousin recently bought a RAZR V3m from Alltell, and I was shocked by the differences. Its like they are completely different phones...

I guess the only other issue I've ever had was that the thing is just so damn hard to take apart to get to my MicroSD card, despite the fact the back-plate will fly off the phone even when dropped at a very small distance. Granted, every positive will likely have a large or small negative to offset it, but in this case, I'd gladly take the ease of use of the RAZR for the marginal hiccups I have with accessing all the features.

Overall, I'd still consider the RAZR to be the standard in the business. With the RAZR Vxx and RAZRII on the way, I'm certain that the phones will remain dominant players despite the entrance of the iPhone.

Overall, 9 out of 10.

I recently, like two weeks ago, got a Razr V3xx with the Platinum finish on it. I don't care for it all that much, there are to many damn things on it. I was used to my i850 from Nextel that was very straight forward and not to mention a brick so when I did drop it nothing really happened to it. I'm sure once I figure the phone out it will be great, apparently there is an MP3 built into it but I haven't figured out how to get music on it or listen to it.

Right now I give the phone a 7/10.

I had a Razr for a while and the i got a Nokia N90 smartphone, now that phone had more crap on it than any other phone ive had. I now have a Krzr. Its basically the Razr but smaller. I like that i can upload MP-4's to it and any mp3's that i have and use them as ringtones! No more T-Zones just to find that they don't have any Cradle of filth for me to get. I just transfer it via usb and there i go. I even have a message tone that is my daughters telling me i have a message. I don't use that but they get a kick out of hearing it. 2 and 3 year olds.

I don't know if I have the V3 but I do indeed have a RAZR from Verizon Wireless, silver with black inside. I have not had one problem with it since i've owned it and I love it. Can't complain at all about it.

What I had seen and read about the phone was that it was a bit bigger and more "solid" than the old V3m that it was replacing, which is good or bad depending on where you went with it. Most people were in agreement that its only purpose really is to bridge the gap between the RAZR V3m and the RAZRII, which should bring some pretty positive changes to the phone. I had heard rumors that Motorola wanted to do a iPhone-fighter with it, but I'm not certain how thats going to work out... Presumably though, in terms of volume, the RAZRII will probably outdo the Apple without a problem.

...Plus, apparently AT&T has the exclusive rights to the iPhone until 2012, which means that our hopes for an unlocked iPhone are pretty much dead. Suxorz...

I have AT&T/Cingular since I needed my phone to be GSM and I needed the rates not to be through the moon on using it in other countries. I could get the iPhone if I so desire but nothing sounds appealing about a $700 phone that works like a iPod (there is just something I have against iPods).

The whole split between PCS and GSM is pretty silly if you ask me, so it doesn't make huge differences here. I was worried more about where I was going to receive a signal than anything, furthermore, cheaper rates... And Sprint that that locked-down here in Grand Rapids. Although the phone is useless at my father's house (almost all cell-phones are) due to the fact that he lives in some kind of river valley below the rest of Grand Rapids, so the trees screw it up (I think).

Meh, I considered Cingular. I wasn't impressed. Sprint has been keeping me happy, and they've done a pretty good job making sure I'm happy as well.

I had Sprint, errr rather Nextel and I hated it, I paid almost $70 a month and got crappy service. Now I'm paying $45 a month and the only thing different is I get 50 less minutes and my night start at 9pm instead of 7pm. I also get a discount through Oakland University for some reason, Cingular give me 15% off my bill every month. I can't really complain.

Well I purchased a Motorola Razr V3m in the Fire color on Monday because it was time to upgrade phones, as the previous contract I was on is about to expire. So far I have not had any complaints with it, other than two people have told me so far that they could hear themselves when I put them on speakerphone. I have yet to try and put any mp3s on it or download any ringtones, as I am still trying to decide if I would rather get the LG AX8600 instead. I really need to go back to the Alltel store, look closely at the AX8600, and ask one of the salespeople how the AX8600 have been performing so far. I also have the choice in getting the V3m in silver if I so prefer.

Here is the stock photo of the V3m Fire if anyone has not seen it in that color.

And here is a picture of the LG I am also somewhat considering.

Just a note: I have a V3m from Metro, and its been acting weird lately - It won't pick upi calls (although they register in my recent calls) and every now and then the camera button or any links to the camera don't work. I have to go Pictures>new>New picture to access the camera. Normally a quick restart fixes all these problems and I have dropped my phone twice or thrice, but its still a good thing to watch out for.

That almost sounds like a RAM issue, like it isn't dumping programs or whatever after you close them. On the MotoQ you have to manually go into the task manager (Windows Mobile 5.0), and kill programs. Speed dial #2 for me since it doesn't terminate anything that you "close". So really after a day's use you have all the programs you've used sitting there minimized hogging up the RAM.

Has anyone had reception problems with their V3? Recently my calls have sounded like they have really poor reception even though I have full bars. Its really annoying because I cant hear people properly so Ive had to switch back to my old K700. I havent abused my phone, ive only dropped it twice so I cant work out why its become so s**t. Not happy at all:grumpy:

Mine's been fine, worked all throughout Europe without a problem and calls to the states were crystal clear.
