My next phone will be a Sony Ericsson K750i or Nokia N90 (or the successor to them if they come out by then). I am also no longer signing any multiple year contracts.

What do you think of the Sony Ericsson W800i, its just like the K750i but it has a 512MB memory card included with it plus a dedicated music button and its Orange and White. :)

Or you could go for the W810, which is like an improved W800i in Black with edge.

The N91 is another good choice but it is yet to come out. Probably in the next few weeks to months. It has 4GB, 2MP, WLAN, Superior sound quality, Wealth of music formats, tonnes of Apps and features :D

The N91 probably isn't going to be out within the next 2 months. March is the most likely time for it's launch.

I saw one of the W800s today and I gotta say it looks sweet, and this coming from a person who normally hates Ericsson phones, I'm pondering getting one if my provider has it.

The W810 looks good.

@ Live4Speed, In ure opinion what is the best, medium priced, most reliable mobile phone that is likely to be on th british market this year ?

nothing too creative. functionality being key

I couldn't say since theres a lot of phones in development that I won't hear about for a few months yet, I hear about them a the same time as the technology press.

I think the following are the best that are due the first and second quarters of the year but note that not everyone's idea of a mid priced phone is the same.

Sony Ericsson W810i.
Sony Ericsson W900i, I think this will be a good phone but might not be what your after.
Sony Ericsson V800.
Nokia N70.
Nokia N80.
Nokia 6103 (expected to be a hit, it probably will be but that doesn't mean it will be great, not had a demo phone yet).
There isn't really anythin coming soon from Samsung that seems to be anything more than average.
I'm not a fan of Motorola's but the pick of their coming soon phones is probably the SLVR L7 but I don't rate Motorloa's tbh.

I'd reccomend the N70 or the W810. For functionality the Nokia probably wins these arn't that expensive..

Most of the phones coming on to the market this year which are reasonably sensible won't be 'mediumly priced' so to speak. I would probably opt for the N80 or the W810. It really depends on your preference for the different functions such as Music, Smartphone capabilities etc. :D

It depends on your definition of medium priced, for me a low priced phone is under £200, a high priced phone is over £400 and medium priced in anywhere inbetween. The thing with the phones at the moment, to get a phone with something genuinely new is not going to come cheap, things like live TV on your phone will be pretty common by the end of the year/early next year, but right now you have to pay a lot for it.

Joe,
Check out the companies that are close to you online.
Make sure that they have reception in all the places you travel.
Then narrow it down by price, and who has a phone that you like.

I used to feel the same way you do about text messages. But now I like it because I don't feel obligated to spend 15 minutes on the phone with someone that I may not want to talk to.
I can text them and get on with the stuff I need to do.
Plus, with the plan we have you get so many messages "free" then you pay 5 cents for each one thereafter.

Thank U L4S/TVR !
Ime not sure about nokias this year, i still have two workhorses w/ their original sims, but they're not splndid.
i can wait for the w810, seems more suitable, less tiny w/ the keypad ect

Nice looking phone, Blazin. 👍 $180/month sounds like a car payment though.

Personally, I am drooling over the phones that BMW X5 SPORTS posted. I don't care for flip phones, so those phones, to me, are very sexy. I'm on my third(T610) Ericsson/Sony Ericsson phone. I've had it for little over a year and a half, so I'm shopping for new phone as well.

I've been with T-Mobile for that year and half. Excellent price and service, but coverage area and reception hasn't been that great. I did contact T-Mobile to see if they can give me a 'deal', but the deals offered were nothing special. I can go shop around and find a better deal than the one's they are offering. :guilty: I was considering Verizon, since my land-line and DSL is through them, and I thought it would be nice to combine the bills together. However, after my recent struggle with their (lack of)customer service, I don't want to buy anything from them. I did consider Cingular, since I hated leaving AT&T(now part of Cingular?), but their plans look spendy.

I'm in no hurry, so I'll keep looking around. Wish me luck. :D

Ok Blazin I need your help now.

I'm looking to change to Sprint because I'm getting real tired of paying an arm and a leg for how much I use it. The reason I like Sprint primarily is if I go over there's not a big charge. The $29.99 sounds much better than $45 a month. I have some issues though...

1. How is the reception? (anyone in the bay area appreciated)
2. What do you/everyone think of the Samsung A900?

Thanks for the help 👍

Ya it's a lot but I'm on my phone all the time.

Since Sprint and Nextel are the same now they will use the same tower...the only place I don't get reception is in some parts of my house. But everywhere else I haven't had a problem. I was even up in the sticks on Saturday evening and manage to still have 2 out of 4 bars.

I was up in the middle of no where Michigan...I was impressed.
