Hello,

For some of the more car interested on here working with your interiors, here is a good How To I found on another forum, a detailed description on how to overlay a part with carbonfiber.
The customer car is a 2000 Audi A4, with wood inserts on the trim pieces in the interior.

i honestly think it looks pretty good. i like the look of carbon fiber. obviously it's not something you would do for performance gains but if your car is going to have a full interior anyway, i dont think the tiny weight gain of a couple pieces of carbon fiber overlay are going to concern you, and it looks much better than the wood. IMO

but we're doing exactly what the poster of this thread asked us not to do so i'm going to shut up now.

If by we you mean you, then yes.

Why would someone be interested in doing this?

your post and mine would represent opposing sides of that "opinion" by we, i mean we. I defended, and then stopped it. end discussion. back on topic now...

OT: Appallingly, I've been thinking of buying that stuff, myself... since my car already comes stock with fake carbon fiber trim, and I'd much rather have the real stuff.

Looks kinda hard... it's scary to get the weave uneven, or if you do the resin wrong, as you'll have to scrap the whole sheet and start over again... :ouch:

I've seen this done to some show cars, and man, it's really really easy to screw up.
