Challenging Series?

Right now I'm looking for a good challenge in GT3. Can anyone suggest some good cars to take into certain races for very close competition with the AI?

With AI? Doubtful....... You would probably have more fun doing some spot races or the weekly race series.

even in arcade mode using a car from the stock choices or whatever and putting it on professional mode its still extremely easy. thats about as hard as it gets too. just play against yourself trynig to beat times or try to gt all golds in the license or something. or practice your drifting.

just race against the AI with a lower powerd car (or not as good) then what they would have...for instance take a beetle and give it 200 or so hp and take it to the beetle cup, so a beetle against beetle cup cars. Actually i might try that myself...hmmm maybe one day.

take a errr Stock 787B or Denso Sard
and play the F1 race...
if tats still easy
get a Ae86 and play it against F1

Sure. Do you want a real test of your driving skills? Lotus V8 SE, right from the dealer to the PD cup. No oil change or tire change. You'll run a 4-5 lap pit schedule, and be just abouton Par with the AI.

Shelby Cobra on T6's for the Trial Mtn Enduro.

A Stock RGT on T5's for the Amateur Dream car series.

A fully loaded R390 race car to the F1 series.

i highly recomend the Weekly race series (mention in sig) other than that take der altas advice

HAVE a go at the Rome enduro in an MR-S, with no more than 250 HP, T4 tires, and the Clio, and the Griffith both on in the race.
That ought to keep you awake and alert the entire two hours.

You might also dust off your calculator and give the power/weight Spot race a shot.

Have a look in the short race series - theres a series with the JGTC cars. Not as big as the weekly series but still should be good.

Run the Amateur Deutsche Grand Touring Car challenge in a stock Clio racecar. 5 3-lappers, so it's not too long a run. The German cars are pretty well matched to each other, and they have a lot more top end than the Clio, which makes for lots of passing.

It was a lot of fun bet very very tough - I'm solid but not great as a driver. Let me know how it works out for you. I had to resort to an almost cheating strategy, but I ran the races straight up. I can tell you my little strategy if you wish, or I'll wait until you've had a go.

Gad! Some of the times I see these other guys put in dumbfounds me... or is that thumbfounds...

Soooo... I'm not to proud to say:

I am certainly not opposed to knowing your strategy before I hit the tarmac (especially since I recall a certain rudeness on the part of the AI drivers there). I have a feeling this will make for a pretty good time (maybe even write-up) and give me the opportunity to get into the nitty of tuning on a stock Clio racer.

I qualified the otherwise-stock car on T8s to get better grid position, then switched to T5s for the actual race after qualifying. So I got a bit of a jump at the start and didn't need to beat my way through traffic that extra time. Of course, after the initial bump draft, some of them got around me, but I was able to fight it out in the turns.

Bump draft might be putting it mildly if memory serves me (which of course, at my age doesn't seem to serve nearly as well.)

Pro Vitz race is somewhat challenging with a fully modded vitz except for stock exhaust.

Have a crack at the worst car possible to win a PD Cup race. The lowest power I've managed was a VX220/Speedster, and the worst car was a Honda Integra Type-R...

Or, in arcade mode, the Integra Type-r with full mods at Seattle on Normal difficulty (3-laps).
